Ruieze Fields

Open fields and soft grass...
Ruieze stretches far in the midlands of Moladion, laced with streams that feed into Diveen and out of Asteraia at times. The fields are vast, filled with wildflowers and tall, soft grass; trees are sparse, as are rocks, but one can find small shrubs to hide amongst, and the grass itself. To the south of the fields, a Ruieze River widens, and the ground becomes sandy. There is a small, grassy island that can be reached from the banks, with water-birds often congregating on the island rather than the riverbanks.

Sabriel doesn't think too hard on what was going on here. He was drifting, here and not while things were said or mostly what seemed to be standing around looking at each other ensued. He hears what Dimitri is saying about only going up from the bottom, but he has already commented that he would not know where to go, if he were to go up or not, it changed nothing. Where was his purpose without the gypsies? Without the things that had once held him together? One by one they dropped like flies, and Sabriel could do nothing to stop it. He could only stand idly by, because there was nothing left to reach for.

Maybe that was where madness started. Maybe that was why Dimitri thought the bottom was the best place to be. Because the male was already at the bottom and that's when reality got a little messed up. But Sabriel still knows where he's lacking and what he's lacking. He still has enough sanity to tell him that there was no good way out of this forest of darkness and pain, and the light was only dimming more. Yet he could just discard this life he'd had for so long, and maybe then he could try something else. Get desperate enough to do things he wouldn't normally do. Make more mistakes because why not?

What would hold him back? Was there anything? Did he even have dignity left to cling to? Sabriel did not think he did. This could be what it felt like to be slipping into madness. It probably was. Just another one of them falling to it, and maybe that was the point. That eventually they all would in time. It barely registers when Delya is speaking, but he gets by anyway. He does not believe he is so far gone as to want or agree to anything like what she is saying, of course. "I am just a gypsy. And if I am not that, then I don't want to be anything else. I have no interest of ruling anything." He adds, unmoved.
