The Grotto

Disaster has struck!
Years ago, an earthquake broke open several entrances into a deep, winding series of subterranean systems. It was thought that deep below, underground rivers snaked their way below Moladion. Now, flooding in the Northern reaches of Moladion has proven this theory to be true.

The Grotto is almost entirely submerged. Many of the entrances are completely inaccessible, and those that are only extend a few hundred feet before ending in water. The lower entrances, however, act almost like a giant drain for Moladion. Water pours down into the Grotto's maw as powerful rapids and waterfalls, and large amounts of debris have build up throughout the area. It can be exceptionally dangerous to travel due to the risk of flash-flooding and dams suddenly breaking, but the Grotto does offer the most consistent access across the floodwaters because of those dams.

Note:The Grotto will return to normal once 25 posts have been completed (or at Staff discretion). During this time, new threads will receive a 'Surprise','Disaster', and prizes.

The crags have always fascinated me with their many mysteries. The stories say they arrived here after the great meteor crash, opening up like a doorway to hell. I never got to explore them much as a child but I remember Kronos and I talking about them. We always wanted to go explore them and see just what we can find in the darkness. Now I'm here by myself. It feels odd to be without my brother all the time. We were inseparable from birth until just recently. When the new alpha took over Asteraia, my parents chose to stay and I decided to stay too and give it a shot. After all, I didn't get to know Jaidah or her family enough to feel any attachment. I was intrigued with her daughters Gehenna and Widow, yes, but they didn't seem all that social. I think Widow has a thing for my brother, actually.

But they're all gone now to Diveen and to my great surprise and disappointment, Kronos went with them. I don't know why he chose to go but maybe he just wanted to try something new. I just wish he would have said something first. Maybe we could have discussed it, came up with a compromise or something. Why did he just go? We've been preached from birth about blood being everything. I don't think of him as a traitor or anything like that. I guess I just miss my brother. But no use crying over spilled milk. I'm on my way to getting a rank and I'm just a yearling. I know what I want and I plan on fighting for it. I'm going to have the scars to prove it. I've already got a scarred scruff and stomach to show my determination. The alpha decided to make me spar with a mountain lion as part of my training. Not really what I was expecting but I wasn't going to back down just because the cat outweighs me by almost 100 pounds.

I gave it my all and I hope the alpha is satisfied. Until then, I've still got more tasks to accomplish. Like recruiting someone to Asteraia. Seems the open lands are not so open anymore. Everyone seems caught up in their own drama surrounding the pack lands and then there are the big groups trying to find their imprints. I avoid those with a passion. I don't think I'm old enough yet to find mine but I don't know if I want someone tethered to my soul. As I go further into the crags, I hear someone talking. Intrigued, I stalk in closer, trying to be quiet as I peer around a dark corner. When I see the girl holding onto a rat, I can't help but chuckle under my breath before I step around the corner with a smirk. "Do you always play with your food?"
