The Grotto

Disaster has struck!
Years ago, an earthquake broke open several entrances into a deep, winding series of subterranean systems. It was thought that deep below, underground rivers snaked their way below Moladion. Now, flooding in the Northern reaches of Moladion has proven this theory to be true.

The Grotto is almost entirely submerged. Many of the entrances are completely inaccessible, and those that are only extend a few hundred feet before ending in water. The lower entrances, however, act almost like a giant drain for Moladion. Water pours down into the Grotto's maw as powerful rapids and waterfalls, and large amounts of debris have build up throughout the area. It can be exceptionally dangerous to travel due to the risk of flash-flooding and dams suddenly breaking, but the Grotto does offer the most consistent access across the floodwaters because of those dams.

Note:The Grotto will return to normal once 25 posts have been completed (or at Staff discretion). During this time, new threads will receive a 'Surprise','Disaster', and prizes.

What were friends for, but to watch over each other in one way or another? It was nice to be able to think like that, to be able to say he had a friend outside of Glorall. It was so interesting in a number of ways, really, but Solitaire wouldn't complain at all over it. And maybe in a way he did have other friends outside of Glorall, but he had no idea where the three others were right now. He had not seen them since just after the escape, as they had gone their seperate ways, but Solitaire had endured some harsh things with two of them there dealing with much of the same in their own ways, and that probably created a bond that didn't just fade away with time. Or so he would think.

Honestly, he just hoped that they were all doing well on whatever paths their lives had taken them. They deserved some good after all they had gone through, and if ever he saw them again, he would be happy and welcoming toward them. This did not exactly bring his friend count up to much, but that was okay. Solitaire was grateful for the friends that he had, no matter the strange circumstances that these friendships had come to be. The bedlam lifestyle had passed, and Solitaire was thankful for all he had. It made him want to give back even more to those who needed it. Being a healer seemed so very fitting for him as a job. As a way of life.

And it was true that maybe Solitaire should have ended up with more scars than he had, but what he had been forced to do for the vagabonds ensured that they did not use a lot of physical violence upon him. Starvation was another matter, but Solitaire tried not to think on those times when he could help it. Honestly, he knew the other two had it worse, and he would always feel some guilt over that. Yet they had all survived and got out. That was what mattered. That was what he clung to now. And now that he was able to help others, he would. Plus, he liked the idea of teaching others healing skills. Malleah should know them, because yeah.. he worried about her out here alone.

He does grin at her comment of hoping she wouldn't have to use the plants this Winter, thinking back on how they had met and what he supposed had created their friendship. The wound from last Winter that he had kept coming out here to check on her about. It seemed weird how much time had actually passed, but so far so good. "I bet you'll be just fine, but I'd like you to be prepared anyway." She could probably hear the concern in his voice, but he was suppost to worry over his friends, right? It showed that he cared about them, that he wanted to be able to see them and talk to them again. And Malleah was his only female friend so far. That he wanted to hold onto.

And at least she isn't picking at his words about children. He had been taught that this was a normal thing for males to want, even early on in life, but Solitaire had his reasons and he was sure that Malleah might be able to piece things together from what he had said before to her. That, and he was ever so shy and uncomfortable about, well.. things of that caliber. Malleah had messed with him a few times over it, so that couldn't escape her notice, either. When she speaks of the matter, his eyes widen a little, and he nods, giving a faint smile. "Yeah.. I like being around them, but.." And he shrugs, knowing he didn't need to explain further to her. And he goes to check out her den, commenting and feeling better to know she'd be safe. After a little while, they parted ways; Solitaire had to get back home and make sure things were fine there.
