Nigel is a phenomenon in the world of Scrabble, much feared for his extraordinary board vision and play-finding abilities - basically, he knows all the words and never misses anything. That's why he has been world champion three times, US champion five times, and King's Cup champion about a dozen times (that's a major event taking place in Bangkok each year).
It's worth noting that the US championship uses a different, smaller dictionary known as TWL. Nigel is good enough that he will challenge off his opponent's words if they are in the full Collins list but do not appear in TWL. Dictionary confusion seems not to be an issue for him.
Dominating the French championship as well after just nine weeks' study is something that has astounded the Scrabble community. Yes, trolls on newspaper websites might make jokes about his appearance or sex life, but on this board at least I think he should be celebrated as a consummate genius. Replies:
