4 Pension Board Meetings
IP: 174.131.47.188

On July 22,2015 at 10:30 AM, there were 3 " Cure " Pension Board Meetings ( I call them make over or redo meetings ) due to the Ribaya Law Suit, which has cost our Pension fund approx. $ 200,000.00 so far and is still growing, until it is settled.

There was then at 1:30 PM the Regularly scheduled Pension Board Meeting.

After listening to my recording of the meetings One interesting item jumped out at me.

During the redoing of the August , 2012 meeting Police Trustee PJ Gray asked for a recess so he could confer with the Plan Attorney in regards to the Boards voting on the previous Plan Administrator leaving the City as the employer and going with the employment agency that all the other staff is in. After returning from the recess Trustee Gray explained that he voted for the change at that time ( Aug. 2012 ) BUT because of information he received later, he would have voted against the change. The implication I got from his unexplained statement, was: that there was some thing detrimental or wrong for the Board to accept the change back in 2012 , Also City Trustee Sharon Fox stated that the timing appeared planned for when Trustee Fox was absent because she ( Trustee Fox ) would have voted against it at that time had she been present.

In my opinion the Trustees should be informed of any wrong doing, if any, or at the least a complete explanation should be given to ALL the Trustees, as well as the Public.

All other Pension business went smoothly.

It was a long day for everyone and ALL the Trustees and Staff, deserve a THANK YOU for a good job.

Tampa Fire Rescue ( Ret. ) District Chief Fred Urbuteit.
