The words had caught her off guard as she was leading her daughter from the grotto, and she turned her head to look, noticing that Raptor had stopped following, and was now staring down the young male who was trying to lure Raptor away. Of course this was not going to work the way the male wanted, simply because Raptor could not understand the words he was saying. Which was probably obvious by the way Raptor was reacting to the male. The tone of his voice must have given Raptor the impression of a threat, and he had cut her off from leaving. Not good things, and Lex was here to back Raptor up in this.
No one was going to take her daughter away from her on any whim, and certainly not if Raptor did not want to go. Though Lex wouldn't be allowing even if her daughter did wish to leave with someone else, because Lex counted on Raptor's presences for help in hunting and protection. She had reasons why she kept her daughter close, and this young male was not going to change that. Lex heard the growl from Raptor, and knowing how ugly things could get with misunderstanding and pig headed males around Winter and the days proceeding it, Lex swiftly found her daughter's side, pressing close to assure Raptor.
Her own growl was unmistakable in the threat it posed at him, that if he tried anything stupid, they would both decend upon him with teeth and claws. They were not of Moladion in the way that most were. They were more primal, and no immature male was going to command either of them, because he had nothing to offer them and for that reason to indulge him was merely a waste of time. Lex had her own defences settling in place, neck scrunched, shoulders pushed forward, squaring her smaller frame with ears pinned and chin tucked, maw open to snap quickly if she must, ready to pounce at him if he made the wrong move.
