The forest stands tall and lush here; ancient trees reach weather-twisted arms to the sky, fighting monster-like storm clouds back with their interlacing fingers. Shadow seems to lurk everywhere you look, but it spills calmly, coolly, inspiring a sense of stealthy calm or protection rather than unease. That is, if you've forgotten what kind of creature might be stalking just out of sight...Abendrot is a land cradled by the dark woods on all sides; in the center, some of the larger trees stay behind to reveal a small plateau - a citadel where this pack can gather and defend itself from invaders. There are, of course, softer sides to the land. Clearings here and there allow the sun to throw down its rays in incongruously resplendent gold showers. Ignore the lingering scents of blood spattered here and there along the borders: those do not concern you. The river on one edge of the territory is playful enough when it hasn't been gorged by violent rain. You can choose to note the ragged claw marks raked down tree trunks and the forest floor as friendly "Home Sweet Home" signs, if you wish.

All who treasure loyalty, order, victory, and the occasional indulgence of raw visceral pleasure are welcome, once they've been approved by the ever-watchful eyes of Abendrot's Alpha. But keep one thing in mind: no matter what your motive, this is not a fool's Paradise. This is the land of soldiers, assassins, and spies. This is ABENDROT.

Make up your mind quickly and prepare to prove your worth. You wouldn't want to add to those blood spatters, would you...?

She was blessed with not having to move for a long way before someone approached her from the treeline. Kobato stopped immediately, watching with soft toffee watchers as the miss moved her way towards her. She was hit with the smell of motherhood, and Kobato was all hers, eyes and ears. Curiosity struck her like a lightning bolt. Why would such a young creature have children? Not that Kobato was much older than her… heat rushed up the girl’s face as she recalled the dealings she’d had with Vladya merely moons ago. Hello, miss, her voice was more soft than the prisoner had thought it to be. But what pained her was that the fae stopped far enough away from her to make Kobato think that perhaps the girl thought she was dangerous. Desert rose listeners flickered back, a look of helplessness crossing her face due to feeling totally useless in such a situation as this… especially after she had just taken the life of a creature whose struggling was in vain. I’m Verity. Radar’s flickered back, abruptly returning to a very welcoming look. Her painful expression had been brief. But it had been there. And such a look was not the norm for Kobato. Now, however, she tilted her head and smiled, tassel flicking in contentment and pleasure at having a name to speak with. What a very pretty name, Verity! My name is Kobato~ it is a pleasure to meet you! What else could she say? Kobato was at a loss for words, still, as mentioned before, upset about her previous dealings of the day.

I was starting to think Abendrot was only made up of males! That sweet smile never left her face. It was genuine too. For some reason…. She felt that this wolf would be someone she could speak freely with. Perhaps she was just making up a fantasy in that childish brain of hers…. At this thought, a memory fluttered to her. Whaddya say, kid? Scared? Vladya… she was not scared at that point in time. She was embarrassed, but never scared. Because this dragon of hers was both a lover and a shield to her sword. But what could a sword do by itself? Only block and hope not to break. Yet now… she was frightened. Frightened because Kershov had the power to send a crack in her sword, which was constantly blocking and never sending out a jab or swipe. She could not protect and conquer at the same time. Kobato would have to think of a way to get Kershov off his feet. Rock the earth beneath him. By herself. And that… the thought of Vladya fretting about her… send uneasy quivers down her vertebrae.

Verity… would you do me the honor of showing me around? I would feel much more at ease if someone would be by my side during such an event… . She asked this awkwardly, somewhat ashamed and yet showing her soft underbelly side to the girl. How strange… maybe it was because she’d been on her guard this whole time so far and was becoming tired of doing so. Plus, one feels a tug on the string of fate when they are meant to meet with someone. And this beautiful ivory goddess was just that tug. And the company would be comforting… She said this uneasily, for Kenshin had been so far hard to approach. He would not allow her near him at all.
