The feel of her brother's ebony fur beneath her tongue warmed her soul, and Kairos bit down upon his paw as hard as she could, feeling her incisors break his flesh in two places to release pinpricks of his sweet, tangy blood. She revelled in the taste, recognizing it as a reminder of his proximity to her, and she released him only when his muzzle wrinkled with disapproval. Her favourite litter-mate may have been mute, but Kairos was well-versed in understanding his wide range of facial expressions, and could even hold a somewhat one-sided dialogue with him at times.
Now, was not one of those moments.
Zagan remained surprisingly mute during her speech, naught but light curiosity wrinkling his muzzle as he gazed at her with tilted head and quizzical brow. Only when their sibling's name dripped from her lips did he appear to truly focus on what she said and, to her surprise, his mask twisted into an expression of repugnance, as though he could not believe that she would ever wish harm to one of her family. Kairos felt immediately hurt and turned her head away to look at nothing in particular, unwilling to show Zagan that his emotions had affected her. Surely he knew her well enough to realise that she did not understand the concept of family, and that weakness was as good as a sin in her eyes? Obviously not.
Sulking, she turned back to face him and caught his stare and his nod, as if he wished to be rid of the subject. Reluctant to let go of her trifle though, Kairos let out an irritated snarl-whine and lay down in a huff, putting her head on her paws. This time, when she spoke, her tone was testy, “You know I care for none but you! Anyway, if I don't make Illias shut his stupid muzzle somebody else will. Did you see how our older brother looked at him? I'm surprised he didn't kill him right then.”
OOC-sorry for shortness!
