The forest stands tall and lush here; ancient trees reach weather-twisted arms to the sky, fighting monster-like storm clouds back with their interlacing fingers. Shadow seems to lurk everywhere you look, but it spills calmly, coolly, inspiring a sense of stealthy calm or protection rather than unease. That is, if you've forgotten what kind of creature might be stalking just out of sight...Abendrot is a land cradled by the dark woods on all sides; in the center, some of the larger trees stay behind to reveal a small plateau - a citadel where this pack can gather and defend itself from invaders. There are, of course, softer sides to the land. Clearings here and there allow the sun to throw down its rays in incongruously resplendent gold showers. Ignore the lingering scents of blood spattered here and there along the borders: those do not concern you. The river on one edge of the territory is playful enough when it hasn't been gorged by violent rain. You can choose to note the ragged claw marks raked down tree trunks and the forest floor as friendly "Home Sweet Home" signs, if you wish.

All who treasure loyalty, order, victory, and the occasional indulgence of raw visceral pleasure are welcome, once they've been approved by the ever-watchful eyes of Abendrot's Alpha. But keep one thing in mind: no matter what your motive, this is not a fool's Paradise. This is the land of soldiers, assassins, and spies. This is ABENDROT.

Make up your mind quickly and prepare to prove your worth. You wouldn't want to add to those blood spatters, would you...?

It was until Draven started turning a beautiful cyanotic blue that Scarlet released and let fresh air gush into his lungs. He might retain some bruising to his throat and have a hoarse voice, but it wasn't like she had torn a jugular. She stepped off him and sat down, licked a few coats of hair over and then smiled back at him with her devilish grin. Draven still had some fire in him- much too much energy.

Oh, don't me started on what I want. I could go on all day. More terra, bigger packs, alliances and war and battles to last me to the end of my days. I want the sun, the moon and all the stars in between, but I want something from you...and I think you know what it is.

She paused, silence returned and again she shared, like an over eager pup and she slid to a halt next to him, but did not attack. A mixture of russet, tan and ivory bent down and looked over his broken form. A forelimb prodded him and again she spoke. Rise up. The leg injury would make this incredibly hard, not impossible- but hard. The question was- how much resolve did have left? All wolves had their breaking point- some just took longer than others. Scarlet laughed if he attempted to rise, otherwise he was silent. She returned to her meter boundary and sat, contemplating her next move.

Since you can't seem to figure it out, I'll tell you.

She stood and ran her tongue over her lips.

What do you value more, your ears... or your tail?

It would soon turn into a question game and it was one Nights had played many, many times. If Draven was lucky, he'd be mostly in one piece for his death- which was the end goal, wasn't it? But why go straight to ten hen there were nine steps before it- and each of the steps had all sorts of goals of theor own. Maiming Draven wasn't her goal, answers were- but how soon would the broken brute figure that out. Scarlet might break a nail on Draven after all- but Draven wouldn't care, he'd be in as much pain as he'd ever been. Pain was a curious ting- it had the ability to warp reality for most beings- your central nervous system tried to shut down and take your consciousness with it- Scarlet would not allow this to happen to Draven. At least...not so early in the process.

The queen awaited his answer, knowing he already would know the consequences.
