At the densest section of the forest, there is a brief clearing where a steady flow of water streams down the slippery stone staircase. The water here is cool and refreshing. Staircase Falls has been rumoured to be the place where reality is met by magic; where peaceful spirits dwell. They are rumoured to have healing powers that are used to help the desperately hurt, though no one has experienced this, except for, perhaps, Kaive.

I want you to h u r t, want you to b l e e d.

The warrioress was not expecting to run into any other beings, her obvious agitated mood usually drove others away, or made it obvious that she did not want to be approached. And so when the other female approached her she reacted in her usual aggressive and angry tones. She had no interest in making friends and had no interest in putting on a show of being friendly when she was the farthest thing from friendly. She had never been a friendly female. Often times she felt that she was better suited to wear the skin of a male than a female. Valkyrie had been trained just like any other brute in her pack, and she was just as strong as any of them and could easily defend herself in a fight, and had killed her fair share of beings on her own, and enjoyed every moment of it. But for some reason, because of her sex, others misjudged her, thought her to be weaker than males and not as able bodied, when in reality she was more capable than most. Because of this, her attitude to others was not a positive one. Females were always too friendly with her, thinking that because she shared their gender that they would be friends, and males always lusted after her well-toned and muscled frame, something that had caused the death of more than one brute in her past.

The dragoness was not intimidated by the female that approached her, even though she seemed more like herself than most weaker females. But for some odd reason, this Carnival, did not stick around long enough for russet colored female to decide if she would try and fight her off, or if she would just let her go with her life. She supposed it was for the best that Carnival had left, she had taken more lives than most. Although this fact did not bother her in the slightest, she would easily add to the list of vargs blood that she had spilled by her own tooth and claw. As she was, still angrily, pacing back and forth at the water’s edge two more wolves approached her. It did not take her long to size them up as two strong males. She was still confident in her ability to hold her own against them if it came to a fight, though it would make for an interesting one for once. Her tail lashed behind her, brown orbs blazing as the first one to step through the trees approached her and spoke. They spoke of a pack that she could go to, and the second one spoke, as if threatening her if she did not join. Or at least that’s what her angry rattled brain interpreted it as, even if it was not their intention to be threatening.

Valkyrie asked what they wanted in return if she were to join this pack. She had never met wolves that were able to handle her…unique personality, and she was not about to change her lifestyle for these beasts. The one that spoke first, this Devil May Cry, answered her question with an amused look on his face. "All we ask is that for every throat you rip out, every body part you maim, every life you end, that you do it with not just your own intentions in mind. Malignant is all about death, but death in purpose. You want chaos? So do we, controlled chaos. The life is one is worth the lives of many in a pack. You kill for one, you kill for all. We are one being, one unit, one predator. Think you can handle that?" For once, his words made her stop and think. She had not met other wolves that shared her tastes and interests. Were they truly okay with her killing and maiming? Or was it some façade to catch her in the act of harming an innocent and then trying to take her life for the “crime”? She could not be sure, though no other being had dared utter words that this one had, so perhaps there was some truth to it. ”So, if your words are true and your pack is truly okay with killing, maiming, and torturing others, what would you and your pack deem a justifiable reason? What does your pack do with those that kill or harm others that you did see as justified?” She assumed that Devil and his companion, Vingi, were smart enough to decipher her words and figure out that she had done the very acts she was asking about, and if they saw it as something monstrous she could outrun them if need be, or better yet fight them off if they felt that the needed to deal with her. For once she hid her hostility, curious to see what his answer would be, but her body was ready to react to any attack that may come to her.

When the russet warrior accused the other brute of threatening her, Devil shook his head, clarifying the situation. "You misunderstand, Valkyrie. No threats, just promise of a darker tomorrow. I would never try to harm what could be the greatest asset of my pack." The more he spoke to her the more that she believed his words were true and that maybe there was a pack out there that could fit her needs and desires. She nodded her head in understanding of his words before asking yet another question. To some she was too greedy and needed more information than most were willing to give, but if they would not be honest with her there was no way that she would join their pack. ”What makes you think that I could be a great asset to your pack? If I like what I hear I just might considering joining.” She spoke the last words in a purr, almost flirting tones with the two males as she continued to watch them carefully.
