At the densest section of the forest, there is a brief clearing where a steady flow of water streams down the slippery stone staircase. The water here is cool and refreshing. Staircase Falls has been rumoured to be the place where reality is met by magic; where peaceful spirits dwell. They are rumoured to have healing powers that are used to help the desperately hurt, though no one has experienced this, except for, perhaps, Kaive.

OOC: So I’m not sure if I mentioned this or not but a little while ago LSVK and I had a thread with Kershov and Nymeria and he roughed her up a bit, so I’m going to write her after that, so she’ll be injured and stuff and we can say that the reason they hadn’t seen each other in a while is because she was in hiding and healing and all that, if that’s okay with you! So she’ll need his help getting back to herself =) Also as part of her coping/healing process she doesn’t really remember what happened to her, but she has flashbacks if something triggers her

Life had been different lately, but she could not entirely figure out why. There were large chunks of time that she did not remember, and she walked with an awkward limp now, but she didn’t remember getting injured or into a fight with anyone, it was as if she just woke up like this. Her right front limb often pained her, but her left hind limb was the worst. On a bad day, every step would cause pain to shoot through her back limb, but on a good day it was at a tolerable throbbing that she could ignore. She just wished she could remember what happened to her. One morning, a few weeks ago, she had woken up in a small cave, the scent of blood around the den that she was in, and her limbs ached. Nymeria had never dealt with memory loss before and it scared her. She could remember most stuff, like that she belonged to Moondown Shadows even though she could not remember the last time she had visited her pack. She remembered finding her sister’s dead form, blood pooling around her dead body in a terrifying way. She remembered the physical pain of grief, of running away and wanting to die herself as she lost the last member of her family.

And she remembered meeting her friend Romulus. Nymeria was a very outgoing teen, but she had not yet found someone that could deal with her excitement and questions and constantly running mouth. Until she, quite literally, ran into the kalak. She had never seen a lupine of his kind before, and she was immediately interested, even though the two had quarreled at their first meeting. After she discovered he was blind she felt worse for walking into him, but the two moved on quickly and became friends. He was the only friend that she had right now, and he was the one that Ny had gone to to cry when the nightmares of her sister had been too bad to handle on her own. She trusted him and enjoyed spending time with him.

When Ny woke up, once again nowhere near the pack lands that she had joined, she decided she needed to find Rom and talk to him. Maybe he could help her figure out why she was having memory losses and why her leg hurt so bad sometimes. If it was another varg, she would be embarrassed to tell them about her concerns, but she never felt embarrassed with her kalak friend. Even though her walk was slower, it was not hard for her to find the brute’s scent once she had wandered across it. That was the only problem with their friendship, that they had to wander around until they ran into each other’s scent. Once she found it though, Ny quickened her pace, even though it made her leg hurt a little more. The gray and white femme saw the tall form of Romulus at Staircase Falls, taking a drink from the cold waters. Her playful side always came out when she was around him, and she crouched low to the ground, deciding to try and sneak up on him.

One of the issues with being friends with a blind varg was that it was much harder to sneak up on them. His other senses were heightened due to is missing sight, and he almost always heard or smelled her before she could pounce on him. She took extra care stepping with her injured stilt, not wanting it to be the reason that her friend knew she was approaching. As she drew close enough to try and jump near him, she leapt through the trees, a playful growl in her throat as she landed near him. As her claws dug into the earth as she landed, the sudden image of a large, scary looking white brute came through her mind, his much larger frame leaping at her and causing her to crash to the ground, pain creeping all over her. Her paws skidded back, away from Romulus’ form, a whimper escaping her throat as a memory of the large, scarred brute came back to her, powerful jaws on her bodice, blood pouring from multiple wounds as she screamed in agony. She couldn’t control herself as her limbs gave out and she fell to the ground, shaking and sobs racking her form, forgetting that her friend was there.
