Ruieze Fields

Open fields and soft grass...
Ruieze stretches far in the midlands of Moladion, laced with streams that feed into Diveen and out of Asteraia at times. The fields are vast, filled with wildflowers and tall, soft grass; trees are sparse, as are rocks, but one can find small shrubs to hide amongst, and the grass itself. To the south of the fields, a Ruieze River widens, and the ground becomes sandy. There is a small, grassy island that can be reached from the banks, with water-birds often congregating on the island rather than the riverbanks.

The days of being a naieve child were hopefully behind her, but at the same time, she supposed she had her father’s soft heart, one that gave in easily and softened when ever complimented, and she knew that if she let herself, she could be that silly girl, one who believed there was good in everyone she met. Though in her years, she had seen the evil around, and experienced it firsthand, the cruelty and abuse that some endured, she had never expected herself to be put through it, but alas, she has never expected her life to be the way it was now.

She knew that the males were going crazy with the females in heat, she had experienced the way they behaved first hand not this last breeding season, but the one prior, she had been grateful to be spared from the horror of it all two years in a row, but that hadn’t made the yearning for more pups any less. She loved her two she had, but the desire to give them more siblings grew. Some called it baby fever—she didn’t know what to call it, so she supposed that fit well.

Relaxing in the star lit field was a pleasant experience, when a howl rent through the air she listened with a veiled smile. Oh, he must be on the look for his lonely girl. But she didn’t know that it was her scent that had triggered his song, and with her voicelessness, she was unable to respond, even if she had the slightest inkling that it had been for her.

But when he had approached, she chose not to change her position, her figure was not as big as his, she was shorter but a bit round, thanks to her mother, Rainbow. She stretched her neck, her nose tipping down slightly as she kept her eyes focused on him, her mottled tail wrapping around her legs as she laid there, the tip flicked in a slow fashion, her eyes never leaving his face as he spoke, tipping her head to the side, if he took it for an invitation, as it was one, then great. Although, it seemed he hadn’t decided to wait for one anyway, and laid beside her. She watched him lazily before letting her eyes drift to the sky. She didn’t lift her head too high, keeping him within her peripheral sight. She wasn’t sure what to think of this gent—was he a gentleman or was this another bloke like Ross? She shuddered slightly at the thought of being used like that again. And she prayed it wasn’t the second.
