Enocra Woodland

Pine, spruce and firs alike...
Dense coniferous forests cover the woodlands, with clearings, paths and the occasional wildberry shrub throughout. Pine, spruce and fir make up much of the forest in the east, with the forest becoming swampier in the west towards Mecor Valley. In the west, cypress trees dominate, with fallen trees creating bridges across and throughout the stillwaters.

Malignus was unusually humbled by the tricoloured female before him, her beauty and wit dazzling him in a way no female prior to her had been able to. She was very young, this was true, but her fox-like slyness and the way her eyes smiled with glee filled him with an anticipation almost akin to the rush he felt when he had cornered his prey. This emotion only deepened as the stranger, Widow, spoke. Her voice poured from between her spectral lips with delighted pleasure, and she giggled and pranced as she revealed his weakness to him. A slow smile snaked across his lips, pulling them apart so that his teeth gleamed at his companion, “Oh dear! Only a minute in meeting and you already seem to know me better than I know myself. What a shame I've lost my mysterious aura already. Still, I believe in good manners, and I suppose telling your host your preferences before you arrive at the table is a fine idea! Needless to say, I've never tasted wolf-flesh before but, for a pleasing young thing such as yourself, I would try anything.” Malignus winked at her, never fully able to give up his gentlemanly act. It had become a part of him, one without which he could not properly function.

When she stepped back, motioning for him to take the lead, Malignus let a look of consternation cross his features, “Ladies first is what I believe, although something tells me the lady I've come across is not a lady at all.” It was neither compliment nor insult, the male was simply stating facts. He did turn to go, however, and set off at a steady trot, missing his partner's flagging display, as well as the consistent waving of her tail. She fell back to his left flank and they moved that way through Enocra, experiencing the forest blaze by in swathes of color, before slowing to a stop just before the end of the tree line. Malignus lowered his body into a crouch, slavering with excitement, his tail whipping briskly to and fro as he imagined sating the hunger of both his belly and his virility.

Golden eyes scanned the snowy pasture before him, and at first he made out nothing of interest. However, before too long a patch of brown caught his interest and he narrowed his gaze against the glare of the snow. On the opposite side of the small pasture which was, in fact, a very large clearing, a wolf had emerged from the bushes. Its lithe frame and quick, dancing steps gave it away as a female, although its age was unclear. The male's heart clenched and he shivered, straining on his legs. If it had just been him alone, he would already have been above the stranger, taking all she had to give. However, he wanted to share this hunt with the black, red and white girl for reasons as of yet unbeknown to him, and so he spoke, keeping his voice low and even, “Look at what I espy, dearest lady! A pretty creature is she not? Perhaps not half as flashy as you, but she will do nicely. I will let you devise the hunting strategy, shall I?”
