Winter was her favorite time of the year. It was in this particular season when Mother Nature released her final wrath on all those that were weak, all the creatures that were not allowed to continue breathing. No one in life is ever promised that they will be healthy, that they can see or smell, no wolf is promised that they will be successful or become a failure. The only thing life can promise you is that there is death at the end to embrace you and taken you down a completely different path. It was how one died that everyone seemed to put for value on. It would be an insult to some if one should die by being murdered or by sickness. It would be deemed a kindness if one died within their sleep, or had a quick and painless death. Why everyone put value on to how they died Tick Tock could not understand. Death was death, as life was life, and if you died the way you did then that was that. What was more important, and what everyone should be more concerned about, is once you die how will you be remembered? That was what truly mattered.
Unlike other packs she actually had low numbers and yet she didn’t seemed bothered by it at all. Quality wolves rather than the quantity was what truly mattered to her. It would not do her well, or the pack for that matter, if they didn’t have the right proper wolf within their ranks. Now that she had been an Alpha for a few seasons she was slowly building up her rhythm, figuring out what she really wanted for this pack. Because of her blood pack she decided that it would be best if she provided an environment where none would be judged for what they were, how they lived, or even who they were. With her imprint being Tobias, she wanted to create a safe haven for him, but for others like him as well. Not all wolves were accepting of others, everyone had their limits, and here no one would be left out for any reason at all. Many of the wolves within the pack were like her, they kept to themselves, and yet they all knew that when needed they would come together. With the plains being wide and expansive it was no wonder that not everyone lived so near one another. The borders, however, were heavy with her scent thanks to the diligence of Flare.
As she roamed over the snowy fields her ebony dial was raised as her radars twitched as she heard the call. As she turned her head around, she began to walk in that direction, throwing her head back to release her haunting song that forewarned the visitor she was coming. It would take a while, but in no time her obsidian frame could be easily spotted within the sea of white. Each step she took was well calculated, long lean limbs carrying her scarred frame easily over the frozen terra firma. There was no need to display any sort of sign that she was Alpha. Rather she carried herself with ease allowing that aurora dominance to be the only tell that she was the leader here. As she got up closer to the female those cold sapphire eyes looked over the potential member carefully looking for any sign of weakness. This pack was strong and would remain so. Weakness was something she and her counterpart could not accept nor tolerate. Jaws part and her cool lyrics flowed out smoothly as she addressed the she-wolf.
“You are the second wolf that is interested in joining Asteraia, what made you come?”
Her greetings weren’t always personal. She was not the type that enjoyed the chit-chatter like other wolves. Beating the bush just wasn’t her thing. She was a straight forward wolf. It was difficult for anyone to try and uncrack her aloof exterior and yet no one seemed bothered by it at all.
