So it ever was. So will it always be. Such is the nature of evil.
While Underidge is not of the same mindset as others (clearly), he still has hopes that this male will do the right thing. The humane thing. That spawn of his was a drain on resources and time. Anything that he took from the pack stores to go towards that child was wasted. It was a good thing Underidge was not the one hunting for the pack, he would forbid that and then there would be an argument. He has only the barest of hopes that this male will listen to his words and that he will weigh the worry and exhaustion that clearly plague him and find that getting rid of the problem would be beneficial. He wouldn't have to lift a paw to do it either, Underidge would be quick and merciful. It would not be like the older male that he had killed before, attacking him and taking from him everything as he had lain there in shock. Ripping into those thick muscles of his neck until he could finally end the life that should have ended long ago.
Nathaniel turns to him in alarm, not at his words, but at his slinky nature. Underidge skulks around Glorall, it is his nature. He does not try to hide yet the shadows often seem to close around him, his personal cloak. Maybe he should have ended this male with a quick attack to the back of his neck. Stopped the weakness where it began, because it wasn't just the pup that was weak. It was him too for cultivating that weakness. Allowing it to flourish. Helping it's mockery of life. Underidge shudders in revulsion at the idea, hiding it only a moment before Nathaniel's red eyes fall on him.
When he doesn't immediately grow agitated Underidge thinks that perhaps he is pondering on his words. Except, that is clearly not what was happening, for in a span of a moment teeth are flashing and fury is rolling over the other male while Under stands in complete indifference. On the inside he grows annoyed, his teeth pressing harder together. Of course this male was too weak to take him up on his offer.
While Nathaniel growls Underidge merely watches him out of those eerie silver eyes. Would he attack him? It is a thought that would bear fruit for Under - the opportunity to cull not one weakling but two. Still, if the male wanted to protect his child then so be it. If Eden allowed that spawn here than Under must, despite his dislike of this idea.
"Mine is no burden," he states in a monotone voice, though there is enough inflection for Nathaniel to get his meaning behind it.
"Besides, it was only an offer." He shrugs now, as if stating the words were not nearly as loathsome as completing the act itself.
"What is wrong with him?" The words are indeed curious in their sibilant hiss, because if he can figure out what is wrong with the boy then maybe he can recognize when it will happen to other children. Like the one that he had killed here, in these very woods, prior to the rise of Eden.
