MAGNUS had not meant to ruin her fun by pausing his antics, in fact, it bothered him a little to have done so because it reminded him of the times when he was young and others had ruined his fun. He had always been too boisterous and seemed to be lacking in awareness of what was “good manners”. It had gotten him into trouble many a time as a child, and possibly more as an adult (not that his family would quite agree that he could be called as such!).
THE bald faced boy narrowed his eyes playfully and dipped his head down to look the filly the eye. “What wickedness has befallen them that they need defending?” he asked with concerned mock interest. ”and is it linked to the water horse’s disappearance? he pretended to wonder before tossing some water her way with his muzzle.
SHE asked about him then, if he was a friend of the sea, sky or stars. He grinned and shook the water out of his dark mane. “Why choose, when you can be a friend to them all?” he stated, and if she gave him good reason to choose, he would merely tell her that he was special enough to acquire the friendship of them all. If such a thing were possible, he was quite sure that would be the case anyway.
THE filly asked if he walked with the giants of the forest and he gave the horse equivalent of a shrug, flicking his soaked tail idly behind him. “I was supposed to, but I thought it would be much more fun to look for the hrímþursar, or frost giants as you might call them, on Tinuvel.” While he mostly said it to inspire wonder in the filly, he was beginning to suspect that the marking around the islands actually did correspond to the jötnar and gods of lore.
WAS he something else entirely? “Maybe” he grinned, “Maybe not. What do you think I am?”
