The air is heavy as you make your way through unknown territory, as you pause to sniff the air a drop of rain falls onto your nose. It is soon followed by another and another and soon the rain is pelting down in sheets, soaking you to the bone. The clouds are an angry purple and the menacing drumming of thunder rolls over the sky. Squinting your eyes against the blinding water you find yourself at the edge of a large, dark pine forest. You are too desperate for shelter to notice the scents that mark the border and plunge in, and nearly into the chilly stream that runs through the territory. You veer away and as you are shaking the water out of your fur you notice a large pair of icy blue shards gazing at you. The storm has passed now and beams of sunlight filter through the thick canopy of pines, illuminating a massive male wolf not three feet away from where you stand.
His pelt looks like a bad patchwork job of black and white and beneath them you see large, hard bands of steely muscle and you know this is a warrior for his torso is marred with many battle scars. His banner curls over his back and his lips are drawn, exposing sharp ivory daggers. When he speaks his voice is deep and dominant, like the thunder you so recently heard.
"Wolf, you have found yourself in the terra of the Andere Seite Pack. I am Eclipse, king of this land."
It is only then that you notice another pair of lanterns gleaming in the penumbra and a dark-pelted fae slinks out into the clearing to stand next to the king, her own banner waves and her green and blue eyes bore into you. She is the same size as most males and a crisscrossing pattern of scars show that she too can take care of herself. Her voice is cold and has a snake-like sound to it yet you can see they are both fair rulers.
"And I am Nephthys, queen of Andere. We don’t care much for strangers so you must make your choice, Submit to us now or flee our lands and never return. If you fail to do either you will have little time left to regret it."
The formidable pair pierces you with their gaze and you feel as if all your secrets spill out before them. You are left with a decision now. Will you submit and take refuge in this dark forest or will you flee and never know what secrets these trees hide? Make haste, you can see that the pair grow tired of waiting.

 ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ The brute once again responded to her with rhyme and rhythm, telling her how his family was painted with the rare pure red hair that was so rarely seen, and that such coloring often colored a varg whose palate was unique. In particular, the red paint told of a craving for other vargs. It was something that was not completely unknown to Athene, but not something she had witnessed first hand. It was one thing to kill another varg in battle for position, power, land, or love… but to kill them for a meal when there was no famine? To choose wolf meat to sate hunger… it was a concept that she had trouble swallowing. After mentioning his mother, he told of his father – another force of nature who was not painted with red but still partook in the strange ritual. What caught her attention, however, was the way that Cuirass talked about his brother. Apparently the brute and his brother Kronos were very close and were each other’s best friends. She cocked her head to the side, thinking of her own sister. They were close and were able to share everything, but they were not similar. They could not be any more opposite from one another, but their differences did complement each other. And yet as she sat there listening to this brute, she realized that it had been months if not longer since she had seen Hellene. Her life with Zev was due entirely to Hellene – Athene had tried to run from her love and her sister had helped him track her down before she left for good. How had she ever thanked Hellene for that? Zev did not just complement her, he completed her. Normally, opposites attracted, but she and Zev were just so similar, and yet somehow they still worked together. A silence fell over the pair and the oddly painted timberess realized that Cuirass had asked a question of her. Thinking back, she tried to remember what he had been saying… ah yes – he had asked about Zev. A ghost of a smile traced its ways across her kissers. “Cavern of Secrets is where we met In the darkness is where the scene was set. Walking in, I bumped into him And followed him in, going out on a limb. We searched for a staircase, up on the wall Instead what we found was a deep fall. A tight tunnel led to a hole in the ceiling We both wondered what it was revealing. The ground was shredded obsidian and ash As we explored it we heard a loud splash. Out of the ceiling, water crashed through, As if the sky’s maw suddenly spew. We ran for our lives back through the cave I got stuck and Zev showed how he was brave. He grabbed me and pulled me to safety The next few minutes are a bit hazy. Eventually, though we made it out Bonding and talking made love sprout. My past, though, held me back And my trail he had to track. He ran after me, and convinced me to stay And we have been together since that day. I cannot imagine life without mate A more perfect match you could not create.” She fell silent, leaving out the reasons that she had left – it was hard for most others to understand as she had been brought up in a way different than others. As she had told Cuirass already, that they had had no ranks… but it was so much more than that. You were what you did in their puphood pack. Your job was what defined you and it was what laid out the path beneath your feet. There was nothing like it here in Blossom Forest… and Athene had had to evolve herself in order to properly fit in here.
