The brute was the first to answer Marx’s call, but he knew that there was a good chance that he would not be the last. Even though he always made sure he was aware of what was going on and ready to answer to the call of his pack at a moment’s notice, he knew that others had their own lives to attend to and may need some time to get there. He just hoped for their sake that they came, otherwise they would have Marx to answer to. And Grey Wind was always willing to help his commander put others in their place. As he asked the other brute who the young pup was, he was surprised to hear her speak up. But he supposed one did need to have a certain attitude to grow up in Abendrot and under the trainings of Marx in particular. She smirked at him with her words, “My name is Nova Prospekt. And you are?” His yellow orbs looked to her blue ones, a smirk of his own growing on his lips. The brute did not often smile, and a smirk was the closest thing that he would get to one right now. ”Nova Prospekt, nice to meet you. I am Grey Wind, one of the head soldiers under Marx here. What brings you to Abendrot?” He realized that she was no usual pup and that she would fit in well here.
Grey Wind’s attention was brought to the high commander as he spoke. “Captain. Good to see you here.” The brute nodded in greeting to Marx, waiting to see if anyone else would come and what the other brute had called him here for. The commander also spoke to others in the clipped tone, his form rigid and ready for action at any second, just like any good soldier would be. His body stance was similar to the one that Grey Wind always had, especially when he was around other vargs that he knew had the potential to be dangerous. Not that he didn’t trust Marx, he did and knew that the brute would not harm him without justification, but it was still in his instinct to be prepared for anything.
Before Marx could explain what Grey Wind was there for another varg joined them, Marx’s mate Enigma. His gaze shifted to her for a moment, returning the silent greeting that Abendrot’s Beta gave to him, nodding his head respectfully to the ranked female. She brushes against her mate’s side as Marx addresses the large grey brute. The rain continued to pelt down on the lupines that had gathered, thunder roaring overhead to remind them of the storm raging. How about a spar, Grey Wind? Show her how its done... A growl escaped from his throat at the other varg’s words, looking forward to a spar with his commander. Grey Wind still remembered the day that he had been accepted into Abendrot and had to spar with the brute in front of Kershov to show his skills. Luckily he had done well enough to get into the pack and now he knew that he was more than capable of the role he kept in the pack.
The two female’s that were there sat to the side to watch. He knew that this was a training session for Nova, and he knew that Enigma was more than capable of taking care of herself in fight. The brute was always happy to have an opportunity to practice his fighting skills. He just hoped that his leg did not act up while they were sparring. He knew that Marx would not seriously injure him, but he did not want to look weak or have the other vargs think he was losing his skills. The two males faced each other, Grey Wind’s body getting ready to fight the other large brute. Simple rules- first on their spine loses. Don't worry, I'll go easy on you. The grey brute nodded at the commander’s words, another growl issuing from his throat. The grin that Marx temporarily had was gone, and Grey Wind knew how he worked. He would wait for the other to attack, he was never the type to attack first, and even though Grey Wind was not either, the higher ranked titan would have his way.
The brute’s tail lashed behind him, yellow orbs sizing up the varg that he had fought in the past, knowing that he was not one to be underestimated, ever. A rush head on would show Nova how most wolves fought, those that were not trained well were obvious in where they were going to attack, and if she encountered a hostile wolf that was not trained like Abendrot then that was what she might see. But it was easier to train her with those attacks, so Grey Wind would try and help her show some more complicated moves that were out there. You try and confuse your opponent, psyche them out so they didn’t know where you were actually going to attack. The brute’s body, quickly shot to Marx’s left side, knowing that the brute was well trained and would most likely see where his next move was going to go, but he continued anyways. Right before he would impact with the other brute, he pivoted his limbs, paws and nails gripping the mud for traction as he tried instead make contact with the brute’s front, wanting to knock him off his paws ideally, knowing the chances of that were slim to known with Marx. His teeth aimed for the side of his neck, not where he would hit a jugular artery, but where he could still get leverage on the brute while trying to slide his front limbs under the other brute’s front limbs, knocking him off balance if possible. If Marx dodged entirely, Grey Wind would leap back, putting distance between them again.
"Fight back,"He snarled.
