The young woman was a little shocked to see another wolf come running in and start jumping on the ice just like she had. She had not considered that someone could be nearby and think she was trying to rescue someone, for she had not even considered that someone would pay attention to the actions of a wolf such as herself. A quick glance over the newcomer told her he was younger even than she was. Her ears flicked briefly and she positioned herself in a way that would ensure the younger wolf would not slip onto the truly dangerous thinner ice that was not too far off.
His whines concerned her, she did not want to bring the pup unnecessary anxiety. One chocolate paw brushed against Herschel, hopefully to calm him.
They did not fall. She assured, her voice still excited while her mind raced to think of a safer game they could play, but not too safe that it wasn’t exciting! The water spirits are good at holding their breath, and don’t mind the cold once they are under the ice! Taika leaned in close and whispered, like she was telling the child a secret the mythical creatures had seen fit to part only to her. But they love making the pockets for us to chase! They aren’t filled with air. They are filled with faerie wishes that need to be freed! Otherwise they will never come true. Eyes agleam, she jumped back to her feet and dug at the ice excitedly. We have to help make the dreams come true!
