Ruieze Fields

Open fields and soft grass...
Ruieze stretches far in the midlands of Moladion, laced with streams that feed into Diveen and out of Asteraia at times. The fields are vast, filled with wildflowers and tall, soft grass; trees are sparse, as are rocks, but one can find small shrubs to hide amongst, and the grass itself. To the south of the fields, a Ruieze River widens, and the ground becomes sandy. There is a small, grassy island that can be reached from the banks, with water-birds often congregating on the island rather than the riverbanks.

Gods may bleed among mortals...

Everything is on track. All the plan is going great. Observing Diveen is a tiresome task, but I have to do this. Today I am watching over the part of the borders that are closer towards the Grotto. I must make sure they are following my track and be ready for it. But it seems they are being careful. It is late afternoon and nothing happened in the icy terrain. It is great for me to blend in, especially when I am watching from among the trees. It had become more rare a wolf getting out of Diveen. It is like I will attack any wolf on sight. No. They’re not keeping their ground because of me. They are a big pack and surely don’t believe I’m a god.

I sigh, seated between two trees. They’ll not come today, will they? Guess I’ll call it a day and head back to the temporary den. My eyes refuse to stay open. Slowly they close and I fight to keep watching the pack. My head shakes and I lower to lay down and in no time, before I know it my head falls and I am sleeping.
For a couple of minutes everything is changed and in the world of dreams I go. It is peaceful and quiet, but as it had been for a few months the dreamlands turn red in a quick way as if blood spilled everywhere and soon this stain starts reaching for me and crawling up my fur, more and more until finally, I wake up with a jump and look forward for the pack, panting.

The pack is still there, my head turns to look at myself and I am relieved to find myself alright. It was only a dream again. I lift myself to my paws and turn my back to Diveen. Head lowering. As the time approaches it is becoming harder to accept. Completely distracted and off guard I sit. They won’t come. Not today.

- Why did you abandon me…

I asked myself. A question that worked for all. Nobody at all stayed with me. Not even my pack.
