I have enjoyed a good number of Sherlock Holmes based puzzles over the years, some of them pretty tough, but this one was a little more elementary, so ideal for holiday time when I tend to go "old school" on the beach, armed with just Chambers.
As many solvers I suspect, I am a Holmes fan, so I detected what was going on with the definitionless answers even before I had confirmed Sherlock's appearance in the grid.
I enjoyed the highlighting puzzle at the end (for once!) and even went to the trouble of printing off a block of copper colour and overlaying my grid with it to write BEECHES on - a copper-coloured felt tip is not in my armoury.
I guessed at the title alluding to "A Case of Identity", i.e. A F(ingerprin)T - anybody come up with alternatives? (in the absence of the solution notes on the Listener website - I shall say no more!!)
