Thank you all so much for replying. It means the world to me to know I have others with whom to share my pain. I am so sorry for each and every one of your losses, but I am sure we can agree that we wouldn't be the people we are today without the input of these very special animals, and the joy they gave was worth the heartache when they left us. I also feel bad because I forgot to mention another animal who impacted my life and he deserved to be on that list:

Grumplestiltskin: You came out of the darkness and vanished back into the darkness, but those few weeks you spent with us were bliss. For all your ugly face and snotty nose you were a beautiful soul and you gave me love when I lost my Eatbugz, consoling me until I had cried it all out. After that, you left. I will always remember you.
