After months of trying to get ahold of him, I finally made an appointment with my accountant to get my irs papers and to find out why I haven't gotten my refunds.
When I arrived at his house I realized how I'll he is, and has been, for the past few months. Even though he had told me the returns had been sent in, they hadn't been. I was shocked and worried what could happen to me.
I drove to the IRS office by my house and, after waiting for a couple of hours, I was assured they would not send me to prison or penalize me. The agent actually chuckled at the thought, since they owe me money, not the other way around. He took the government one and then I went to the post office and mailed the state one away.
After buying groceries I went home and got nothing else done.
The day definitely didn't follow my plan.
