It was not hard for the brute to pick out the foreign scent near the borders. He had been here for a while now, and he knew the ins and outs of the pack. The grey titan could walk through the pack blindly if need be, feeling more comfortable here than he had ever felt anywhere else. He had no desire to ever leave this terra, and his loyalties ran thicker than most vargs. It was not something that he would brag about, that was not the type of lupines that lived in Abendrot. Those type that craved attention and approval would never get that from the alpha here, Kershov was his own breed. A breed that would do what he and only he wanted, knowing what was best for his pack but doing whatever he needed to do to survive. And those were the type of vargs that Grey Wind needed to live and be around.
So as Grey Wind wandered along the borders, as he so often did no matter what mood he may be in, he easily caught the scent of a stranger. Whoever was nearby was not technically breaking any rules, they were not within Abendrot’s boundaries, a mistake that could potentially cost someone their life if they were not especially careful. But the brute was in a bad mood and not wanting to deal with anyone that was sneaking about. There had to be a reason that a varg was hiding in the nearby bushes and not making themselves present, something that could be seen as a threat. And Grey Wind would not tolerate anything that threatened his pack.
As the varg growled out a command to make themselves present, a different breed became visible, one that Grey Wind had not encountered before. A maned wolf gracefully made itself known as it came out from the brush, a rare wolf that was taller than the muscular grey varg. Though this stranger was taller than him, and likely faster if he were to run away, he was not as thickly built as the Abendrot soldier. The two silently looked each other over for a moment, Grey Wind’s yellow orbs scanning the uniquely colored brute. After the stranger was done with his inspection of the other varg he took a step back, and Grey Wind gave him a sadistic smiling, knowing that the stranger was smart enough to realize where his safety was. ”Something you see frighten you stranger?” The brute purred the words at the stranger, before he spoke. "I always know what's good for me." The kalak’s stance went from a grim one to a warm one, his stance more inviting than it had been a moment before. Why was he now coming off as friendly? That was not something he usually saw as a reaction, and he raised a brow, not easing up on his stiff stance.
The stranger spoke once more, "I am sorry, my intentions were not to become a nuisance. I'm a stray in need of a home. I promise, whatever pretenses you may have: I will prove invaluable." Well he made promises to help the pack and be of value, but words meant nothing to him without proof, or at least without more of an explanation. ”Do you know what pack you have come to? Abendrot does not just take in strays, we only take in those that will truly help our pack. So, stranger, tell me your name and why you will be of value to this pack?” His yellow orbs continued to stare at the stranger who seemed friendlier than most that would come here.
"Fight back,"He snarled.
