Perhaps changed most of all out of all of the packs is this place. It was stripped out of its forested home and now instead lays at the edge of an ocean. The vast sparkling eternity of the water lays to the south of the land, while the rest of the land is made of rocky outjuttings. Gone are the trees, and all that remains for greenery are the short shrubs that dot the paths in the rock, and the moss that grows thanks to the spray of the waves. Further toward the shore, barnacles are a plenty, and look to cut the pads of those who slip on the wet surface. These extend out into the water itself, and the tough land has multiple caverns scraped into it, providing ample dens for the wolves that live there. Depending on the tide, however, the lower caverns may flood, and the vicious swirling water may prove to be dangerous as there is a strong undertide ready to pull unsuspecting swimmers to their doom. Even the tide itself is powerful enough to push intruders against one cliff or another. The ocean does provide, however, plenty of food for those who brave the waters - there are many breeds of seals and sea lions, though the males that protect each of these are vicious and territorial. There are also turtles that come ashore to breed and to lay their eggs - both the adults and the eggs themselves can provide sustenance to the wolves. But they must take care - the water is deep enough to allow sharks to come to shore from the depths below. Those unwilling to venture the waves or wet their paws with the moist sand of the shore can find snakes and hares in the rocky outcroppings, but they must beware the Komodo dragon and other monitor lizards that perch upon the shore - they are swift and move in groups, not to mention they carry venom in their bite that causes immense pain, paralysis, and prevents blood clotting. This is not the land for the weak of heart or the weak at all really. This is Uyaraut - ‘The Diamond in the Rough’.

What is Dead May Never Die

Family. Duty. Honor.

The brute’s life seemed to be nonstop activity recently. He had traveled to Saw Tooth with his Beta to check on the friendly pack after the loss of their alphess and he wanted to see if their alliance would still be intact, which he hoped it would be. SawTooth was one of the friendlies packs in Blossom, and he thoroughly enjoyed their company whenever he visited them. He also enjoyed spending some quality time with Misty, the femme that had been friendly with him since he joined Bright Moon many moons ago. Summer still remembered when he first came to the pack, without a home and more lonely than ever. He had been left in charge of his younger brother when his pack got attacked. War had broken out between multiple packs around his own, and his home had finally been invaded. The last image he remembered as he and his younger brother fled was his mother and father being killed. He had no idea what happened to the rest of his siblings, but he could only assume that they were dead.

For a few weeks, Summer and his brother had survived somehow, but then one day, his brother was gone. The brute searched for weeks, but had never been able to locate the younger male. He still did not know what had become of him, and he could only hope that he had found a safe home, just as Summer had. And now he was the one in charge of keeping this pack safe, no matter what may happen to it, Summer would be there to defend those within that called Bright Moon home. He was older now, and more experienced with the world and was confident that he would be able to keep those within safe, especially his adopted daughter. Now that he had taken his orphaned niece in as his own, he had just one more reason to make sure that Bright Moon was a safe haven.

As Summer walked through the trees, not paying too much attention to what was going on around him as he was lost in his thoughts, he heard a call ring through the trees. The vocals were unfamiliar to him, and his audettes perked at the strangers call. It was definitely calling for someone within Bright Moon, so he quickly turned in the direction of the voice to see who had come to his borders now. He always enjoyed company and was always looking for more members to join. It was still early in the morning and may lupines in the pack may still be in their dens asleep, like his daughter at the moment, but he had always been an early riser, liking to ensure that nothing had compromised the safety of his pack during the night. But it was awfully early for one to be coming to visit, so perhaps they had a specific purpose.

As the smoky colored brute pushed through the brush, he saw the black form of a fae sitting down outside the borders, her blue star gazers met his own yellow ones. His plume was held high, but not threateningly, a warm smile on his features as he approached. She seemed very alert to her surroundings and before he could greet her she was speaking, "Am I in the right place? I mean, this is Bright Moon, right?" Summer’s smile deepened at her kind vocals, she had come to his pack with a purpose, perhaps to join. He stepped closer to her, remaining standing as he answered her. ”Yes you have. I am Summer, Alpha of these lands. What’s your name and reason for coming if you don’t mind me asking?” He waited patiently for her answer, knowing that sometimes it took others a moment to figure out what had led them to this pack,
