Kairos almost felt sorry for the pretty young thing when she seemed to take her words so seriously, brow furrowing in confusion and angst. In fact, she felt so chagrined at her behavior that she swiftly amended it, and was rewarded with a grin and the wave of a tail. Something about Taika had awoken a part of Kairos that she didn't even realize was there and, suddenly, all thoughts of purity and bloodlines died from her mind. Instead of wanting to wipe out those she had formed, she wanted to call them to her side protect them from themselves. The sentiment was so unfamiliar that she grew unsteady on her paws and even began to sway slightly, the infant of an idea blossoming in her mind. They had turned away from her and her kind, and she would draw them back.

Her brown companion pulled her from her reverie with an excited yip and tail wag, and Kairos grinned in reply, dropping into a bow while the other explained the rules of the game they were about to engage in. She still did not understand the concept as well as she might have, but the rules were simple enough. She caught the icy rock with one paw as it was sent her way, leaving a skid mark in the snow. Taika smiled and panted, eager to begin, but Kairos couldn't help but feel unfulfilled. What was the point of playing if you couldn't bite? That's what teeth were for, weren't they? With a sigh, she spoke, “I suppose that sounds like it could be fun. Rocks were among one of my better ideas anyway.” and then, rising from her jerky play-bow, “Come and get it!”

With that, she turned and batted the rock out among the trees, racing to pounce upon it before her adversary realized in which direction it had rolled. Despite herself, her tail began to wag and the exertion of the activity was light enough to be pleasant.
