Grey Wind did not mean to hurt the femme as he lashed out. But she had given him no warning to the pain she was about to inflict on him, and he could not stop his instincts from lashing out at her. Even though she did not cry out in pain, he noticed when she turned away. He decided to ignore it, not apologizing as the large grey brute thought his situation over, yellow orbs focused on the female and she shifted uncomfortably under his stare. He didn’t move his gaze though, examining her, thinking of other possible motives that she could have. When he went through multiple possibilities in his head, and realized that he was still able to handle anything she may try and do despite his injuries, he decided it was time to head back home. The brute was already beginning to feel better. Head more focused on what was going on around him. No longer losing blood was drastically helping his situation. And then of course the herbs that Macaria had given him was helping with the pain. His body still ached, but it was dulled now, and he could easily ignore it. Not being in excruciating pain anymore helped him clear his head and figure out what he needed to do from here.
As Grey Wind thought about the situation, he knew that he was not in the clear yet with his injuries. If it had just been the dislocated limb, then he would be all set to go back on his own, but that was not the case. He had multiple lacerations, many of which could become infected if he was not careful. And if he did manage to get an infection, then he would need help again, something he did not like asking for. Abendrot was not useless in that field, but Enigma was not as skilled a healer as the wolves in Saw Tooth were. And the less vargs that found out about his incident, the better. The more that he thought about it, the more he knew that he needed to keep Macaria with him, whether she was willing to stay or not.
As the pair headed out, the brute now walking better since the femme had relocated his limb, he saw her look at her shoulder here and there, where his teeth had grazed her. He quickly looked at it a little more closely, noticing that it was not a deep or serious wound, and he knew that she would be fine. It had barely even bled and was already clotting, though he assumed it would bruise and leave her a little sore. But she would be fine, he was used to wolves being tough and dealing with pain, luckily she was not a complainer. The wolves of Saw Tooth were made of much softer material than the warriors in Abendrot, but at least this femme was doing something right. Grey Wind broke the silence between them, asking about her family and giving her a little bit of information of his own.
Macaria whined when she heard that his family was dead, and he pricked his ears at the sound, one that he was not accustomed to hearing. He was glad to hear her answer, giving him some information that he needed, "I'm sorry about your family. You have one of my siblings in Abendrot. Aside from that I have one other sibling but he isn't around much. And then there is my father and Channing, and my auntie Kahlan. I spend a lot of time with Dad and Auntie... she is the one who is teaching me." Her vocals were proud, but the ones that he focused on was that one of her siblings was in Abendrot. The brute did not remember the pups name, but he remembered when a Saw Tooth female gave birth within the borders of Abendrot, later bringing a pup to the pack in return for the safety and shelter that they had offered. But that pup was gone, had not been there in a long time, so had Saw Tooth really paid back the debt? Not entirely. So if Grey Wind kept Macaria in Abendrot for a bit, he would have one more reason for doing so. But now there was the problem of her family. If she was close with them then she may be missed, and if they went looking for her it could get messy, he would need to tread lightly.
The brute was interested in her family know, and questioned her a little more, vocals softer than he normally spoke, ”It’s good you still have family around. You’re brother has not been seen in Abendrot in a long time, is he back in Saw Tooth with you? You must be close to your dad and aunt then? I was close to my half-brother, Ghost, we were closest in age and grew up together. We trained together, hunted together, and really he felt like my full brother, though my mother was not happy with how much time we spent together.” The brute knew that he needed to give some of his own information if she was to continue sharing her own, but he was surprised with himself at the honestly of the words that came out. He was telling her more than he had told anyone before. He was not sure what was making him speak so much.
The two vargs had crossed the border, and he directed them towards his den before she noticed where they were. Once her nares picked up on the scent she moved away from him, backing up, and he stumbled a little at the sudden loss of support. Apparently he had been leaning on her more than he realized. She smiled at him when she spoke, "Okay, well I hope you feel better, sir. I'm going to head home now..." His instinct was to reach out and grab her, but they were still a little ways from his den, and he wanted this be done as discreetly as possible, so he did something he never would have wanted to do before, he voiced needing help. ”Macaria, wait. My den’s still a ways from here, and it’s hard for me to walk. Would you at least take me there?” His yellow orbs met hers, forcing his features to show vulnerability, ”My pack is not as…understanding as yours. Some here would let me die in my weakened state instead of helping me. I don’t know how I’ll find food, and I would rather not have my packmates find out about my injuries. You’ve been a great healer, and if anything else were to happen to my wounds, I would prefer you to help me.” There was a bad taste in his mouth at the words, he did not want to show weakness, that had been trained out of him, but here he was, asking another varg for help, one that was not in his pack, appearing weak and needy. He would have to make sure no one from his pack found out about this.
OOC: I figure if she’s going to end up liking him she should see his secret softer side, and not immediately got to violence like he normally would, but if doesn't stay we'll proceed like we talked about!
"Fight back,"He snarled.
