Braylen

stallion | 15.1hh | palomino tovero | protector of the inlet

Braylen wasn't sure what brought him back to the Crossing. He had meant to go to Luthien but the strange tugging of the sea and perhaps something else had steered him here instead. Sighing softly, the stallion trudged through the territory with no feelings of being social. The change of seasons had put a strain on any kind of conversation with either gender and it was nothing Braylen was interested in. Perhaps he would go see his mother while he was here; Braylen hadn't seen the painted mare in several long seasons now and he wondered how her health was getting along. Was she still even alive?

When he first scented it, that sweet scented perfume; Braylen thought it might just be his imagination and ignored it. He had been sleep deprived for days, that was the only reasonable explination. But when he actually saw her, the stallion froze in place. His blue eyes widened in shock as if he had seen a ghost and truthfully that is what he felt she was. Standing among the trees, the shadows concealing him from view; Braylen wasn't sure how long he stood there just staring at the mare. But suddenly a feeling rushed up on him which thawed his frozen form and he launched himself from the shadows with pinned ears and narrowed eyes.

As he neared her, Braylen reached over to lay a bite upon the crest of her neck just before her withers. It wasn't to be painful, only enough for her to feel the pressure of his blunt teeth. He didn't stop there, but continued forward to use his shoulder to jostle her back away from the water and he drug his side down hers; leaving his scent along her skin. Around and around he went, his painted hide pressing along every inch that he could until he could only smell himself on her. When he finally stopped, he stood along her right side; shoulder to shoulder, hip to hip as close as he could get.

Braylen had never acted that way before; not towards a mare anyways. And if asked later he would never be able to explain what came over him. He could care less that it was the Falls and he couldn't claim a mare here; in his mind Isobel was his and forever would be as she was the first mare to ever be in his herd and he had feelings for her that even he didn't know. "You're going to drive me insane, Isobel." He said gentle as he began to calm down. Reaching over he tried to place a gentle nuzzle on her cheek. "I wish you could tell me what I'm doing wrong for you to keep leaving me"
