When solid ground grows soft with emerald moss and rivulets of black mud, and coffee-colored water pours slowly around the trunks of densely carpeted trees, this marks the beginning of Laod Mor: the swamp of Blossom Forest. Time itself seems to slow to a soporific crawl . . . the humid jungle air grows stagnant, thick with the scent of rich flooded earth and an abundance of green things that can be found nowhere else—except perhaps Caidir Olc. In some areas of the swamp, water rises so high the only way to cross it is to crawl across fallen logs or massive roots arching from their liquid beds; in other places a wolf might wade easily through the mire—or find a fortunate stretch of mostly dry earth. Pieces of the great river, Glaesfaet Sceawere, also slice through from time to time: small falls that feed into surprisingly clear pools, only to terminate into tar-like pits. Of course, Laod Mor’s beauty shines brightest at night. Here, fireflies gather at all times of the year . . . suffusing the shadowy place with millions of twinkling lights.

Those looking to hunt here of course find a myriad of water prey, including caiman, turtles, fish, crayfish, otters, and toads.

Behind These Castle Walls

Boring, boring, boring.

That was all I could muster for thought. The word bounced around my head in tandem with my paws, quietly and involuntarily treading along the dark floor. Muscle memory, perhaps. I hardly had to tell my legs where to go -they knew the way. The moon shone from directly above providing only enough light for me to see two inches in front of my nose. Make no mistake, this is not a handicap. If I can't see them, they can't see me. Exactly how I like it.

My fur stands on edge due to a wet chill in the air; but I don't mind the feeling. It makes me hypersensitive to my environment, just another upperhand. Around the same time each night moisture begins to gather in the air and on the foliage close to the ground. Getting to close would leave your legs and belly damp. I found it refreshing. It had to be about midnight, maybe later - prime time for activity, as far as I'm concerned. Better to sleep through the monotony of day and surface for the excitement that only night can bring. Especially with the very real possibility of perishing immediately in direct sun light.

Monsters thrive under the cover of darkness.

I mumble to myself without concern, a light cackle following. For I, too, am one of those monsters. I listen to my voice fade away and then there's silence. Sweet, sweet silence. Occasionally the leaves shake - a possible victim fleeing in terror? - or a bird tweets overhead signaling his comrades of my fatal presence. I hate those pesky birds.

Tattle tales...

They alert everyone nearby of my arrival if I'm not careful enough. How do they expect me to catch a meal? I must have been careless with myself tonight. Give me a break, though. Honestly. Birds have no better purpose than to spoil my fun - but never my career. No, never my passion. I'm far too skilled when on the job. On the hunt. Silent paws, deadly accuracy. Blood. Chills run down my spine at just the thought. Ohh, beautiful blood. So precious to me.

No not even the birds can see me coming. Not even the birds can come between me and my lovely, crimson stained victims.

Which, I guess, is why I'm so confused when I break through the foliage to find myself a mere twenty feet from another wolf. Our eyes already locked. My heart races for a split second. I guess careless was too light a word, yet a wicked grin finds it's way to my face nonetheless as I quietly purr,

Hello my dear...

OOC: Gosh, sorry if this is crap. I haven't played her in quite some time. Anyone is welcome to claim this thread, but please be able to post at least a few paragraphs in response. I can't stand when I only get a few sentences in reply to a long post I've spent a good deal of time working on. :D
