The ghostly figure had been wandering aimlessly since his encounter with Shae and their finalization of the deal. They were to be acquaintances and diplomatic relations between their packs, Spring Grounds and Cold Summers. His position as beta had been a whirlwind of activity with Damian being in and out of the pack, searching for the infiltrator. Pierce couldn’t even bring himself to growl because he was so worn out from his recent activity. And as a greater surprise, Yoki, the former Beta had shown up in the territory, but she was a mess… Pierce shook his head, the image of her ragged body forming in his mind. Her black fur had been matted in places and missing in others. Whatever the reason for her condition, Pierce was determined to help bring her back to health and revive her within the pack. He was sure Damian would be surprised to find her back among the borders, but would he allow her to stay after leaving for so long? Pierce hoped so, he wanted to help Yoki get better and that would only be harder if Damian kicked her out.
Amber portals gazed up into the sky. Clouds had begun to form and darken with rain. He welcomed the rains cold droplets, it would be a reprieve from the blazing heat of the sun. Pierce continued to pad onwards, his paws grazing the flowers of the field lightly. For a brute of his size, Pierce was quiet on his feet and nimble in fights. Thankfully he hadn’t had to fight for Damian yet. He didn’t want his bloodier side to awake and take over him. That would only ruin the reputation and status he held in Spring Grounds whether he won the fight or not…
Rain droplet started to fall gently before they turned into a deluge of water. His ghostly figure still trotted slowly through the field, he didn’t mind being cold or wet. He rather enjoyed the feeling of revival that was awakened in his soul. His knightly stature fell into a more relaxed position as he sped up into a gallop, his long stride eating up the land and his ghostly figure blurring across the field and through the brush, all the while staying silent. It wasn’t long before the mountains came into view and Pierce smiled. A hard climb would relieve his mind of stress. Pierce began to scale the mountain side with swift ease, his claws scraping quietly against the stone. And it was not long before he crested the side of the mountain and found himself on a small plateau of stone and shrubs. Pierce surveyed the area and realized he was the only one, which he was not bothered by. He rather enjoyed solitude but suddenly he remembered Princess Lucaya. Where had she disappeared off to? He hadn’t seen her in the weeks following the meeting and he missed her presence. She was a sweet girl and very intelligent.
Pierce shook away his thoughts and padded to the edge of the cliff. The wind whipped through his fur making chills run down his spine. The silence surrounded him reminding him, he was alone. Pierce resumed his sentry guard, but his eyes closed, letting his other sensors reach out, searching for anyone.
"Optimism is fatal in my experience," He growls.
