This last year and a half had been both hell and heaven. The tan bodied boy wasn’t that much different from the female who was roaming the same area, but very different at the same time. He was so close to his second birthday now, and that much closer as well as being able close to his full height. He was still a short wolf by many standards but he was quickly becoming cunning like a fox or crazy as a coon. Mugen moved on his long legs slipping around the trees and looking for any potential targets to get something off of. Food, supplies, whatever. He was a thief and scavenger and while he was quite capable of making his own kills it was simply easier to snatch someone who was unaware and run for it. The boy looked rougher than a pup should at his age. For starts his tail was gone, leaving a little fluffy nub at the end of his body, lost in a failed raid. Parts of his right ear also had been gnawed and torn off, but that was ‘friendly’ fire. You protected what you stole or took it was every wolf for himself in that band. Well it was, right up until the younger boy was driven off a cliff edge because he one upped the superior and got the fluffy arctic fox pelt that now was draped over his shoulders.

Was it really important? Not really, it didn’t really help him survive in anyway but it was sort of a mark of pride to steal something that was considered rare in the dry prairie he had just returned from. Sand was everywhere and shrubs were the predominant plant there, nothing really much to survive on unless you could manage to get your fangs into a rat or jack rabbit. So why did Mugen take the pelt and not something better? Cause he wanted to prove something to that sadistic bastard who took him in and that was, to put it simply, he was better than him. Didn’t matter that wolf was bigger or stronger than him he was stupid and by proving that they tossed him over a cliff for it. Toss was a light word. Mugen flung himself off of it by his own volition; they simply took and drove him there. Well he could swim at least, something he wondered if the rest of them even had half a mind to do.

As he traveled thinking about everything he had been through since his weak parents had to go and get themselves killed, he heard the savage snarl not far away. He looked around seeing the darker pelted girl not that far away she was a fair bit larger, but most girls were, most wolves in general actually. The little renegade sniffed, noticing the scent of the mountain pack on her pelt before loping around her and seeing she really didn’t have anything of use. He shifted his white fox pelt over his shoulders before striding forward. He didn’t kid himself, right now he was a kid and had the sex appeal of a toad, not that he thought he would ever use that approach anyway, but still he tried to look as tough as he could as he strode forward on his long limbs eying the girl over with his teal and brown streaked eyed.

”Someone sounds, more pissed than a treed cougar.” He noted casually his nub tail giving a few flicks out behind him. He knew all about that, though thankfully he didn’t get any bad ends of the deal in that experience. He knew nothing of this girl, her family, her history, she was an unknown. It didn’t mean she didn’t have something useful to give either now or later and he would see what she was worth to him as simply another wolf of the world. Everyone had use it was just trying to figure out how they could be used.
