As the future king after me, of course, I wanted Emil to have the best experiences under his belt and so I pushed him to train with others to get the best of the best. Of course he didn't get to train under the best, Heyel himself, but at least Azrael is a close second...maybe third. I always knew that Emil would go far in everything he set out to do and whatever he wanted to be with his life. He has never disappointed me and though I would have liked him to stay in touch with his mother at least for her own sake of mind, at least I know he hasn't abandoned Moladian and his family. I am impressed with his moves as he dodges and rolls out from under Calliel. Surely he gets his grace from his parents. He looks puzzled for a moment when Calliel leans close but since I know he's not in danger from my own sister, I shrug it off and come in closer.

He looks happy enough to see me, his tail wagging and his lips tugging into a smile as any son would when they see the perfect role model. My own tail wags in return and my eyes soften affectionately as they do for all my children. Of course I knew he would be upset with himself when I scold him over Vega's worry but he should know better than to worry his own mother. He looks up at me expectantly as if wanting to talk but of course my children know manners and so he waits patiently for me to finish before he can speak. He lets me know that he is still my child. Apparently his brother and him have been searching all over for his sister. It's like they read their mother's thoughts. I scowl when he tells me that they have been met with disappointment and haven't found her and this doesn't bode well with me since it means Vega will continue to be worried sick about Paravana.

I nod my head in understanding. "I see. Well I'm glad that you and your brother have taken it upon yourselves to go after your sister. That's admirable. I have wolves out looking for them too so you're not alone in this endeavor. Don't give up, Emil. We'll find her, but only when she wants to be found." My sister acts almost as if insulted to be in charge of such an important task. Isn't finding the heir of Diveen important enough for her? My children, her neice and nephews? Since she is trying to be my head assassin, you would think she'd be happy for such an important task. It's not like she doesn't have my permission to kill anyone who gets in her way of finding my children and yet she doesn't seem all that satisfied. Just like a female, never satisfied. She doesn't have children yet so she can't understand the worry a parent goes through over their children. I should lock her up in a den with Vega for an hour and let her rant about Paravana and then see how she feels.

She snorts at me as I get between her and Emil and I smirk in response. I've always liked getting under my sister's skin. I tease at my sister as I have always done but it seems she woke up on the wrong side of the rock today because her hackles rise and she spits her words at me like I slapped her. My eyes narrow but I keep my own hackles smooth and my ears forward. I refuse to pull the authority card on my own family; it's unnecessary at least for this. "Take a joke, sis. You're too tense. If I wanted a babysitter, I'd have told you to find them and keep an eye on them. I only wanted a location, to know if there was any danger. Excuse me for thinking someone wanting to be my lead assassin would be interested in practicing their tracking and stealth skills. If you'd rather I put you on a task that's not important to me then fine, I'll do it." I raise a brow in challenge watching her as she leaves. Let her blow off her steam and then approach me with a sound mind. I won't talk ranks to her while she's throwing a temper tantrum. She's not a child anymore and she needn't act like it.

It would have been unfair to the rest of the assassin hopefuls to just put her back where she was because she earned her right under my parents' rule. Ranks are about more than doing tasks. It's about earning the trust of the alpha. Yes, she is my sister and yes, as family, I automatically trust her but I need to trust her now as an assassin, not as my sister. Why can't she understand that? It must just be the winter. Hormones and all that. I turn back to Emil, taking a deep breath before I speak. "What your plans now, Emil?"
