sometimes the greater plan is kinda hard to understand...

Never had she been the kind to show anger -- though she felt it nearly every day at her lack of being able to communicate the way she wished, she had never shown her feelings. Other than her inadequacies with her stupid defect, and worries when she first was approached about children, his reassurance had helped, though, it didn't take away the knowledge that she wasn't perfect, nor was she anywhere near decent. It was something she felt very guilty about-knowing she hadn't been a proper mother to Zain, it broke her heart nearly every day; because some mornings, she'd wake up, and not realize what was going wrong in her life, only to remember a few minutes later. The dread that followed her all day, taunting her when she saw mothers with their foals, even their older children by their sides. It was a pain she dealt with every day.

Her thoughts were interrupted when she felt his nose press against her, she huffed out silently, her sage green gaze traveling back to his own blue eyes. She never knew how he could seem to understand her so easy. No one else caught onto her ways as well as he had. Sure, her parents had been great while they were still alive, but she hadn't run into anyone who caught on quite like he had. His words floated towards her, capturing her attention with just the sound of his voice. He spoke of changes, proceeding to break the news to her that Zain had left. Her gaze lowered, sparks of sadness blossomed in her eyes as she felt as if it was all her fault. She should have never left in the first place, what kind of mother leaves her child?!

Inky black locks fell in a quick swoop down over her eyes, she felt her heavy eyelids begin to close, only to snap open when she heard his voice speak again. Lifting the sorrowful eyes, she watched him as he spoke of the Inlet, and being a right-hand to a male named Pagan. She watched her ears twisting forward, her gaze softening when he spoke of her joining him. Despite the guilt she felt over Zain, she smiled through the pain, reaching out to lip at his cheek before she nodded, her nose pressed against his neck. She'd follow him o the end of the earth if he asked her to, forever.
