Announcements as of July 28, 2021

I have called you, and you have answered my call --

Do not mistake my silence for weakness, my forest kin. For I am willing to defend you with my fangs and claws, until the days come when am no longer able to. Keep an eye on the borders for Zelda and her sister Midna, because I will welcome them back into the flock on the day of their return.

The flood has left our forest home in a sorry state of disarray. I shall not tolerate this. Summer is here and we must rebuild our dens in time for winter. There is a lot of hard and dirty work ahead of us. But we shall face it together, as family, as a pack. Let's get back to work and then we shall hunt. I hunger for a feast.

He didn’t have long to wait before he could see his brother rounding the trees and into the open area. It was so strange having them together like this but he wanted to do this more. His family was very important to him as was his pack. To protect it he would fight hundreds of more times so long as they were safe within it. Amoxtli knew that his parents and siblings were proud of him and Shiloh especially so. Still didn’t stop her from wanting to go find Jaidah and give her a piece of her mind too but Amo would never let her. He didn’t like that female in the slightest… everything she had did and was doing… it wasn’t right and Amoxtli would stop her again and again from disturbing his forest if she came back and feel no remorse in doing so. Did that make him bad? He knew his father worried for his challengers and even sought to their healing, but with her… she made his blood boil. If it were anyone else would he feel the same? Would he want to kill them for trying to ruin the peace his family had tried so hard to maintain? He guessed that was something he would have to figure out should someone else inevitably challenged.

When his brother arrived Amoxtli was initially taken aback by his joke. Looking at him blankly before shaking his head wildly side to side until he caught the wink that his brother had given him. ”I wouldn’t doubt it but I think Shiloh would do it for you at this point, brother.” He said sheepishly giving a shrug and a matching halfhearted smile at the humor before Dexter asked him for the real reason for coming. His face grew a bit more somber before looking back in the direction where he had fought off Jaidah giving a sigh before letting his mismatched eyes fall upon his sibling.

”It was intense… I barely feel like I remember it now it all just as fast as it happened seemed to blur together. It wasn’t anything like the last time those three wolves came after you and hurt Levi.” He started, ”I swear I am going somewhere with this.” He added shaking his head again as if to straighten out his thoughts. ”You know though even in that moment though I didn’t want to kill them, just get them away from you guys and make them go away but… her. I wanted her dead Dex. I actually wanted her dead and I tried to kill her too… does that make me… he paused giving a sigh, ”Well… just as bad as them? Should I stop while I am ahead? She didn’t think twice about killing Rhae though should I care that I tried to kill a killer?

He didn’t know why he was picking Dexter now to unload all of this on, he wasn’t even sure if he wanted to tell Shiloh his feelings regarding this, but he was his brother right? He could trust him to not go squalling to their father at this point and he knew how his father would be. He was proud but he didn’t think he would stay that way if he found out he tried to literally take the throat out of his opponent. ”It’s just been weighing on my mind, I don’t regret it though.”

THE FOREST RANKS

THE GRAVEKEEPER

The Alpha Male of Taviora. He will accept all challenges and block any steals. He has taken an oath to protect all within the forest, alive and dead.

THE KEEPER OF SECRETS

This will be Moonshade's chosen co-alpha. They will also be able to accept challanges and steals in order to defend Taviora.

THE KEEPER OF TRUTHS

This rank will belong to the chosen heir of Taviora. This wolf will probably share Moonshade's blood. This rank can be challenged for if you believe that you are a better candidate for the job.

THE FOREST COUNCIL

Although the Alpha's have the final say in all matters, Taviora is still a pack, we are still a community. These wolves are the most senior members of our ranks. Their role is to guide, serve and protect. All of them have earned their place here and they should be respected at all times. Every position on the council can be challanged for by a subordinate pack member. However the council has the right to block a pack member from gaining the position if they have concluded that the individual has placed their own selfish desires before the best interest of the pack as a whole.

THE TUSKS

The packs lead fighter. One of the strongest and bravest in our ranks. They will answer the call to protect the forest if either of the Alpha's are absent.

THE JAWS

The packs head of defence. They are our chief hunter and guardian to all within the forest borders. They know every inch of Taviora and every wolf within.

THE HORNS

The packs most senior teacher. They are responsible for teaching and guiding all of our young and new members so that they will reach their full potential.

THE EYES

The packs trusted informant. This wolf spends a lot of their time outside the forest borders, keeping their eyes, ears and nose peeled for news or potential trouble. Due to the secretive and dangerous nature of this rank, only a wolf that the pack can trust with their lives will obtain this responsibility.

THE DARKDWELLER

This is Taviora’s Head Healer. This wolf is responsible for treating the pack's wounds, injuries and illnesses. They are also expected to be one of the first on scene when a mother goes into labour. Along with their counterpart, The Soothsayer, they will train future healers for the service of our pack and our allies.

THE SOOTHSAYER

This is Taviora’s Head Counselor. Their knowledge of healing and herbal remedies are equal to that of their counterpart, The Darkdweller. This wolf specializes in helping us conquer the unseen demons in our heads and our hearts. They are also expected to help bring all children of the forest safely into this world.

NIGHTWATCHERS

Our trusted packmates that guard the borders while the rest of us sleep safely in our dens. If something is amiss within our lands, they should be the first to intercept any threat and call for back up when needed. Some might not call themselves soldiers, but they will spill blood if push comes to shove.

DAWNSTRIDERS

The most diligent and selfless of our pack. They are up at first light and leave our inner sanctum every few days in search of prey. They hunt far and wide in order to make sure none of us go hungry. While not out hunting, they are free to relax or assist the Nightwatchers, Daylightres or Dawnstriders with their tasks.

DAYLIGHTERS

This group will make up the bulk of our pack, they are our beloved family. They are generalists and commoners who are charged with looking after the most central and sacred parts of our home. Along with The Horns, they are expected to watch out for our children. We are happy to keep all within our ranks that love and respect the forest of Taviora.

DUSKWALKERS

Rumoured to be the most free spirited and independent members of our pack, they guard when no other eyes are available. They wander down all the winding dirt paths and have been known to explore into the freelands. They are envoys and ambassadors who assist The Eyes with their duty of keeping us all safe.

ANCIENT PINES

These wolves are older and have retired from active service. We thank them for all that they have done for our pack, however long or short their tenor was. They shall live out the rest of their years with the best food, shelter and company we can offer them.

THE BRIAR PATCH

This is the name for Taviora’s nursing mothers and their litters of puppies. Once they are born, at least one parent is expected to temporarily step down from their role in order to raise their pups for the first 6 months of their lives. An exemption can be made if another mother is willing to look after the young while the parents resume their service to the pack.

THE SAPLINGS

Too big for the briar patch but not yet old enough to be called a daylighter. These are all puppies between the age of 1 and 3. Pups can start their training from 2 and above if The Horns has found a suitable Mentor for them.

THE WELCOMED

These wolves are welcome within our borders anytime of the day or night. Blocking their access will be met with disapproval and possible punishment.

THE BANISHED

They are enemies of our pack and their presence will not be tolerated within or near our home. Those caught in contact with a wolf on this list will likely share the same fate.

THE SACRED TOMBS

Our brothers and sisters that have sadly left us for their next adventures. We give thanks for their lives and we send them on with all our love, hopes and dreams. Moonshade will accept the bones of any wolf that has ever called Taviora their home and will find them a special place within our hallowed grounds. Every burial mound is individual and sacred. Tampering or messing with one will not be tolerated. A crime against the dead will be treated as though it has been committed against a living pack member.
