Glorall

Disaster has struck!
Flooding from the north has taken its toll on Glorall. The large tides combined with the increase in water draining from the Ruieze River has flooded the lower regions of the pack. The sandy soil, compounded with so much water, has toppled a lot of trees. Traveling is difficult even when the water is shallower, with the sandy soil below being difficult to find traction on. The daily tides seem to keep the level of flooding fairly consistent, too.

During the low tide, wolves may be able to move around the higher dunes (with some difficulty) but during high tide, the pack is almost impossible to safely navigate. Swimming is possible, but the risk of currants and surges from either the ocean or the river are very real. The island off of the coast of Glorall is untouched by either issue, although it is incredibly difficult to find your way there without being an adept swimmer with plenty of good luck!

This must be the wolf that Eden stole to come here but she doesn't seem all that upset to be here so that's a good thing. Maybe I can make her stay all that much better, entertain her or something. At my words of worry, she smiles and takes a seat, seemingly happy that I noticed her condition. I dont' know much about pregnancy or anything but I think I remember hearing somewhere that pregnant wolves shouldn't strain themselves. I sense something comforting in her gaze, almost like the way Engima used to look at me and I find myself relaxing more and more in her presence. She must already have that motherly instinct kicking in. I wonder if this is her first litter. Surely she's old enough to have had more before. Not that I think she's old or anything, just...seasoned.

She seems content to sit here and just hear me out and that's comforting, though I'm sure at some point she's going to get hungry. I'll try not to keep her too long, at least without a lunch break. She touches on both things I was thinking about in her first set of words to me. So she has had more litters! My eyes widen a little in euphoria, my tail wagging faster at the confirmation and I shake my head. "Oh come on, you can't be THAT old. What are you, eleven, twelve? I wouldn't go a hair above thirteen." Ok so I'm not as practiced at flattery but it's not like she's walking around with an arched back and complaining about her joints. At least not yet.

I know it might be a touchy subject, the stealing, so I lightly touch on it but she surprises me by looking at me gently. She tells me that she's been to more than one pack, my eyes widening as the names go on and then she tells me the name of her mate. I wag my tail and grin. "Wow, you really have been everywhere! I bet you've learned a lot! You know I'm trying to be a diplomat for Eden so maybe you can give me some pointers. Fenrir sounds like a fierce name. Is he as mean as he sounds?" I duck my head sheepishly as if she'll get angry that I just called her mate mean. I thought Fenrir was supposed to be a wolf god or something, aren't they supposed to be all mighty and angry all the time or something? Maybe I don't understand it all. She answer my questions about Fenrir in her next set of sentences and I tilt my head to listen better.

Of course I couldn't help the gasp that falls from my mouth when she tells me of her last litter. "FOUR?!? That's like...a ton!" My ears flatten to my head though and I look down at my feet for a second. "Sorry, that was rude. I don't mean a ton, that's just...are you okay?" My eyes get as big as saucers as I look back up at her. And then she's asking about me. I try to straighten up, wanting to make a good impression. She makes it seem like my opinion actually matters, like the sake of her family hangs on what I say and I gulp. "Well, I was born and raised here. My mom Enigma loved this place before Eden took over and I haven't found a reason not to like him. I don't know him all that well but he seems fair and he watches over the pack. He keeps us safe and fed." I shrug a little, hoping I gave her a good enough answer.
