All of my children are independent like it's in their blood or something and I love it. I'm not the coddling type and neither is Seline so our children grow up strong. Cuirass and Kronos learned how to depend on each other early on and now that Kronos has moved on to other packs, Cuirass has stepped up to train with the alpha herself in preparation to take over as a warrior. It would be a lie to say I'm not proud of him. I'm sure Kronos is going to be good at whatever he does as well and I look forward to seeing his accomplishments. As for my own mate, she has decided to step into the shadows once more. I haven't seen much of her since the pack meeting when the new alpha took over. I had at least expected to see her when I got back from the pack hunt but she was nowhere to be found. I know Seline likes her own space so I'm not angry. I just wish I had someone to celebrate with.
Instead I hear the voices of my two daughters as they sneak toward the den. Melisandre and Lurid are like Kronos and Cuirass used to be, attached at the hip and never far from one another. They step in tune with each other despite the height and weight difference. They are two peas in a pod. I turn my head sa they approach, smiling as only I would toward my own offspring. My tail even dares to give a wag of invitation as they rush to me. I turn to Melisandre as she speaks, my eyes glistening slyly at her words. I smirk when Lurid jumps in, my brow lifting in surprise. They want to be hunters? I know it's in their genes since we're not exactly used to eating normal prey but I didn't know they would be happy to just bring home food for the pack. What they are asking is not hard at all, in fact, I figure they would expect it of me anyway since I am their father and I should be teaching my children to hunt anyway.
My eyes narrow and I lower my head toward them daringly. "So...what do you feel like killing today?" My eyes dart back and forth, my tail twitching, my muscles spasming in anticipation. Even though I just got back from a pack hunt, I'm always ready to be out on the hunt again.
