The brute felt weird, speaking gently to the female, relying on someone else for support, it was not like him. Normally he would never need someone else to help him, he was independent and never wanted to rely on another being to survive. He had trained himself so he would only need to rely on himself and no one more. But now it was clear that he did not know as much as he wished. If he had not stumbled onto a healer then he very well could be dead by now, if not very soon. He had already lost enough blood to make him feel lightheaded and to have a headache, even though the bleeding had been stopped by Macaria not long ago. Losing more blood would have made him pass out, and then death would not be far away from there. As much as he hated it, he knew that he owed his life to the female of Saw Tooth. He continued to surprise himself as he spoke truthfully about his family to her, for once not hiding his past or lying about it. When he spoke of his half-brother, Ghost, she looked confused, "Why did your mother... care?" Now it was his turn to look at her confused. She grew up in SawTooth, a pack that was known for the nice and kind wolves, not the demons that haunted Abendrot. Didn’t she grow up in a good environment, always loved and pampered by her mother and father? A thought that annoyed him, knowing that pampering was not the way to go about raising young. ”My mother was not the biological mother to Ghost. When my father was away on war he impregnated another female, breaking his loyalty to my mother. She was angry about that, and every time that she saw Ghost she was reminded of what my father had done, and she did not want us to be friendly with him for that reason. What is your relationship like with your mother?” Grey Wind did not particularly care about what kind of relationship Macaria had with her mother, but he had to keep the niceties up with her.
As the pair crossed Abendrot’s border, he could sense Macaria’s unease and growing panic. She grew nervous and he could feel her trembling slightly as he continued to lean on her. Normally he would find it amusing to see one immediately worried when coming into his pack’s territory, but he needed to keep up the façade if he wanted his plan to work. ”Don’t worry, you’re with a higher ranked soldier of Abendrot. Noone here will harm you while you stay close to me.” He knew that his words were mostly true. The only ones who may hurt her would be those that were higher ranked than him, and there were not many. He was confident that they would make it to his den before anyone discovered their presence. When he pleaded for her to stay with him, something that left a bad taste in his mouth, he heard whine escape from her, and he knew he had won. He had pleaded to the inner healer in her, and it had worked. When he felt her head nod in agreement and she finished speaking, "I will remain only until your wounds are closed. With proper poulticing it should only be a few days.", he grunted his thanks before realizing that she would expect more than that. Grey Wind was not used to speaking this much to another being. ”Thank you. I owe you my life Macaria.” Even though he was not used to thanking others, the words were true.
The larger brute lead them through the trees, directing her towards his den that was hidden deep within the pack’s territory. To those that did not know where it was, it was almost impossible to find. He had dug a deep, roomy den in one of the hills that had a lot of shrubbery and growth on it. Vines and other foliage hid the den from prying eyes, but he knew exactly where it was. Grey Wind stopped walking, hoping that Macaria would as well so he did not stumble. ”Here we are.” He pointed out where his den was, stumbling forward a bit to push the ferns and vines back and expose the dens opening. ”Ladies first, don’t worry, it’s spacious enough for both of us.” He waited for her to walk into the den, hoping he did not have to drag her in and cause a scene sooner than he wanted. Once they were both in, whether by Macaria’s will or not, Grey Wind kept himself in front of the dens opening, not wanting her to be able to escape. He had been thinking about what he was going to do while they were walking through the territory. He knew that if he were to heal properly he needed rest, but he could not trust Macaria to stay here, even if he did sleep at the entrance of the den. Because of his injuries his reflexes would not be what they normally were, and he could not risk something happening because he was not at 100%.
And so, once Macaria was in the den, Grey Wind quickly acted, taking her by surprise so she would not be able to defend herself as easily. Normally he would not be worried about someone as small as her, even though she was full grown she was a smaller varg. But with his injuries he did not want to get too cocky and make things worse. His larger frame lunged at her, trying to knock her to the ground, onto her back or side so he would be able to do his damage more easily. There was not much space in the den since there were two adults in it now, but he had enough room to do what he needed to. Once she was on the ground he quickly lashed out, his dagger reached for one of her own limbs. His ivories pierced the flesh of her shoulder, gripping tightly before he quickly jerked her limb, ripping it from its socket as his had been torn. He knew she would cry out, and he was glad that he had made his den away from anyone else’s. Once he had maimed her so she would not be able to sneak away from him, he backed off slightly, pushing the blood lust down. The brute’s inner demon demanded more, relishing the taste of the girl’s blood in his gullet, wanting to rip and tear through more of her body, but he did his best to ignore that, but a hungry growl escaped him. ”It seems you might need to spend a little more time with me than planned Macaria.” He purred the words at her, a sadistic grin on his features as he lowered his body to the ground at the entrance of their home.
"Fight back,"He snarled.
