Announcements as of July 28, 2021

I have called you, and you have answered my call --

Do not mistake my silence for weakness, my forest kin. For I am willing to defend you with my fangs and claws, until the days come when am no longer able to. Keep an eye on the borders for Zelda and her sister Midna, because I will welcome them back into the flock on the day of their return.

The flood has left our forest home in a sorry state of disarray. I shall not tolerate this. Summer is here and we must rebuild our dens in time for winter. There is a lot of hard and dirty work ahead of us. But we shall face it together, as family, as a pack. Let's get back to work and then we shall hunt. I hunger for a feast.

From your new Alpha --

Moonshade, the Gravekeeper of Moladion

Return to Lunar Children
I have loved you for a thousand years
IP: 104.34.33.123

I'll love you for a thousand more...

How long had it been since her father and sister had gone missing? Far too long in the young osprey girl's opinion. She had cried when her mother had told her, sure she knew she wasn't helping the situation by crying, not helping her mother who tried to stay strong for her and her remaining sister Zelda, but she could not stop herself from being sad. They had left so suddenly, Zeltzin had told the girls they had to go somewhere and that they would return one day, but Scarlett was not so easily convinced. So many questions had ran through the girls mind, many vented to Vortigern, her most dear friend, but there were no answers, at least none offered to her. She had wanted to run after them, to look for them and bring them home but she was far to little to do that. Plus, she needed to be around for her uncles wedding day and also to take care of her cihtli who seemed to grow worse each day, the inevitable truth that the small girl refused to acknowledge grew closer and closer. Slowly, her sadness had turned to anger, and then to a form of acceptance. This is how things were to be, and one day her father and sister would return home.

It was a beautiful winter's day, probably the nicest the forest had seen since winter had started. A call had echoed through the forest, the call of her grandfather beckoning the forest family out to enjoy the day together. It wasn't often they all got together like this, and so it was to be a good day of enjoyment. The small osprey girl woke at the soft sound of her mother's voice, gently pulling her from her dreams. The tiny forest princess felt groggy as her mother licked her atop her head. ”Come on now my precious daughters, I think your grandparents are asking for a visit from us.” Only when the tiny girl registers what had been said does she practically pop up, stretching her body out with eagerness to go. It was amazing to see the creme and brown girl go from completely unconscious to full of energy in three seconds flat. Her slightly larger sister is quick to wake as well, crimson eyes turning to see her sister stretch and yawn away the sleep.

”Oh do you think they will tell us stories?” Zelda chirps, her russet body leaving the den before Scarlett could scurry after her and their mother. "Oh I hope so!" Scar says, her voice a sing song of excitement. Once more does her mother lean down and lick her, cleaning her off and smoothing down her fur for the tiny princess was surely a mess. Scarlett does not complain, and when her mother is done she scurries up to be beside her sister as they moved to their grandparents den. ”Maybe, little girl, only one way to fight out right?” Zeltzin says with a kindness that only a mother could ever muster for her children. A grin erupted from Scar's lips, her tail flailing behind her as she kicked some snow remaining at her sister playfully. Spring would be here soon and they would be one! It was so exciting, it just would have been a better occasion if Midan and Lucero had been around.

”Maybe you should ask your Grandmother how she met Grandfather, it’s quite the nice tale, I told you both how your father and I met.” Zeltzin says, perking Scarlett's ears at attention. Now this was an idea! Of course she knew how her parents had met, only heard it a thousand times and loved to think about meeting a boy of her own (completely unknowing she already had), but never had she heard of how her grandparents had met. When the den came into view, crimson eyes looked over to teal with an eagerness. When Zelda took off, the smaller osprey girl took off after her, both dashing in to the den where the rest of the family awaited. While the russet girl goes straight to their grandmother, the creme and brown girl starts with her uncles, nuzzling them affectionately before making her way to her grandfather and finally her grandmother. She stays before her grandmother, laying down in front of her as her mother squeezes in to say her hellos. Tiny creme paws gently get placed on the old female's own, as crimson eyes stare lovingly at her grandmother, a broad grin on her face and tail wiggling.

Scarlett looks around at her family, so happy that everyone is here together like this. She loved them all more than words could ever describe, an infinite. She looks to her grandmother once more, practically wiggling with energy. "Cihtli, please please please tell us how you met Colli," she asks, pleading and knowing her sister will be right with her in the puppy dog eyes. Both of them loved stories and this was one they really wanted to hear.

THE FOREST RANKS

THE GRAVEKEEPER

The Alpha Male of Taviora. He will accept all challenges and block any steals. He has taken an oath to protect all within the forest, alive and dead.

THE KEEPER OF SECRETS

This will be Moonshade's chosen co-alpha. They will also be able to accept challanges and steals in order to defend Taviora.

THE KEEPER OF TRUTHS

This rank will belong to the chosen heir of Taviora. This wolf will probably share Moonshade's blood. This rank can be challenged for if you believe that you are a better candidate for the job.

THE FOREST COUNCIL

Although the Alpha's have the final say in all matters, Taviora is still a pack, we are still a community. These wolves are the most senior members of our ranks. Their role is to guide, serve and protect. All of them have earned their place here and they should be respected at all times. Every position on the council can be challanged for by a subordinate pack member. However the council has the right to block a pack member from gaining the position if they have concluded that the individual has placed their own selfish desires before the best interest of the pack as a whole.

THE TUSKS

The packs lead fighter. One of the strongest and bravest in our ranks. They will answer the call to protect the forest if either of the Alpha's are absent.

THE JAWS

The packs head of defence. They are our chief hunter and guardian to all within the forest borders. They know every inch of Taviora and every wolf within.

THE HORNS

The packs most senior teacher. They are responsible for teaching and guiding all of our young and new members so that they will reach their full potential.

THE EYES

The packs trusted informant. This wolf spends a lot of their time outside the forest borders, keeping their eyes, ears and nose peeled for news or potential trouble. Due to the secretive and dangerous nature of this rank, only a wolf that the pack can trust with their lives will obtain this responsibility.

THE DARKDWELLER

This is Taviora’s Head Healer. This wolf is responsible for treating the pack's wounds, injuries and illnesses. They are also expected to be one of the first on scene when a mother goes into labour. Along with their counterpart, The Soothsayer, they will train future healers for the service of our pack and our allies.

THE SOOTHSAYER

This is Taviora’s Head Counselor. Their knowledge of healing and herbal remedies are equal to that of their counterpart, The Darkdweller. This wolf specializes in helping us conquer the unseen demons in our heads and our hearts. They are also expected to help bring all children of the forest safely into this world.

NIGHTWATCHERS

Our trusted packmates that guard the borders while the rest of us sleep safely in our dens. If something is amiss within our lands, they should be the first to intercept any threat and call for back up when needed. Some might not call themselves soldiers, but they will spill blood if push comes to shove.

DAWNSTRIDERS

The most diligent and selfless of our pack. They are up at first light and leave our inner sanctum every few days in search of prey. They hunt far and wide in order to make sure none of us go hungry. While not out hunting, they are free to relax or assist the Nightwatchers, Daylightres or Dawnstriders with their tasks.

DAYLIGHTERS

This group will make up the bulk of our pack, they are our beloved family. They are generalists and commoners who are charged with looking after the most central and sacred parts of our home. Along with The Horns, they are expected to watch out for our children. We are happy to keep all within our ranks that love and respect the forest of Taviora.

DUSKWALKERS

Rumoured to be the most free spirited and independent members of our pack, they guard when no other eyes are available. They wander down all the winding dirt paths and have been known to explore into the freelands. They are envoys and ambassadors who assist The Eyes with their duty of keeping us all safe.

ANCIENT PINES

These wolves are older and have retired from active service. We thank them for all that they have done for our pack, however long or short their tenor was. They shall live out the rest of their years with the best food, shelter and company we can offer them.

THE BRIAR PATCH

This is the name for Taviora’s nursing mothers and their litters of puppies. Once they are born, at least one parent is expected to temporarily step down from their role in order to raise their pups for the first 6 months of their lives. An exemption can be made if another mother is willing to look after the young while the parents resume their service to the pack.

THE SAPLINGS

Too big for the briar patch but not yet old enough to be called a daylighter. These are all puppies between the age of 1 and 3. Pups can start their training from 2 and above if The Horns has found a suitable Mentor for them.

THE WELCOMED

These wolves are welcome within our borders anytime of the day or night. Blocking their access will be met with disapproval and possible punishment.

THE BANISHED

They are enemies of our pack and their presence will not be tolerated within or near our home. Those caught in contact with a wolf on this list will likely share the same fate.

THE SACRED TOMBS

Our brothers and sisters that have sadly left us for their next adventures. We give thanks for their lives and we send them on with all our love, hopes and dreams. Moonshade will accept the bones of any wolf that has ever called Taviora their home and will find them a special place within our hallowed grounds. Every burial mound is individual and sacred. Tampering or messing with one will not be tolerated. A crime against the dead will be treated as though it has been committed against a living pack member.

Remember, we are always watching from the shadows ...
