News 08.08.2021
Change was long overdue in Spirane. Now that I have learned who is still an active presence within the pack, the ranks have been updated. As I once took time away from the pack, so too now shall Kalseru. Know that she is still second in command of the pack, as is reflected in her rank. Once you are familiar with the new ranking system, if you would like to change positions or move up in the ranks you need only ask. Let this be a time of new life in Spirane, and a promise of great things to come!

When the snows fall and the white winds blow, the lone wolf dies, but the pack survives.

It seemed that Pan would get his way, or at least, partially so at least. It had been as the sun had began to crest in the east that she had felt the all too familiar ripple of pain across her abdomen. She had stirred and paced outside the den for some time, only having returned after the water had broken around her. It was then that she had moved to crawl back into the den's confines, the faintest of golden light following in behind her as she scrambled towards the bowels of the construct. There, it would be warm. There, it'd be safe and they'd all be content. Still, she had to be accessible. As one of the few Healers in Spirane, she had to do her best to ensure that she could receive help in the unusual event that she needed it. So much planning, it seemed!

By the sun's arrival, she had settled comfortably into place - or, well, at least as comfortable as she could be considering the situation. It wasn't long, then, for the first pup to begin its arrival. The first one came easily; its body was small and compact, a pale hued pelt standing out against the shadows of the den. Niviaq took the child quickly into the warm folds of her flesh and fur, cleaning and inspecting their child - their daughter - as she did so. The child seemed remarkably healthy and for that, she was glad. Even though the pain had yet to subside entirely, she called for Pan, hoping for him to be there for the arrival of the next pup. For now, she had to be patient and coddling the child seemed to pass time suitably.

However, time seemed to pass so very slowly. At one point, the sun had lifted into the sky entirely, basking the den's mouth in vivid light. It was then that she rose to pace in place, awkwardly twisting her body in an effort to restart the process. It seemed to work, or at least, a savage new pain shot through her and forced her back onto her belly, twisted inwards on herself as she attempted to receive the second child. He brought with him a trickle of fresh blood; he was larger than the first, much so, and his fur was pale though it seemed to darken on his undersides. It would be some time for her to be certain and yet, she could not help but smile at the child's distinct resemblance to Pan.

This process continued for some time until the sun peaked. At such a time, she had begun to pant from the exertion before the familiar sensation returned once again. It seemed, she could not help but acknowledge, that she and Pan had been correct. It was a blessing, however, to know that such pain had been from another child and not from some internal mishap. He had been a struggle to release and a whine broke free from her before he slipped into the world; like the others, she quickly took him to her teat. There, he was quick to settle into the others, giving her time to recuperate and investigate him. Healthy, too, it seemed. His fur seemed dark, an unusual thing she had to admit when she peeked towards Pan. Just what had his family looked like to bring about such a child? It made her grin, though the grin was short lived.

Luckily, the fourth child had followed its brother fast enough. It seemed like only some half an hour had passed before the fourth - a surprise, indeed! - had slipped into the world. A marvelously pale daughter, it seemed, and yet an unusual hue seemed desperate to blood across her body. It made Niviaq tilt her head in curiosity as she placed the fourth child beside her littermates.

For some time, she was content to remain in silence. The last of the pain had begun to recede, leaving only the usual ache as she twisted about in an effort to become comfortable. Her panting had begun to slow and eventually, she had found herself a position comfortable enough to curl up around their children, her head neatly rested atop her paws.

"Four, it seems. Who would have thought?"

She jested lightly, knowing full well that the two of them had assumed such a number. Still, it was a surprise. She had not seen many litters of such a size for some time, and especially not in a wolf her age.

"This one shall be Sila," she nosed towards the pale female marked with the unusual gold, "And this one Søgne, for Litherum."

She smiled up towards Pan, a brow lifted as she motioned towards the other two. He would know what to do - lest he wish for her to give them each a name of her choosing.
