Aplos Riverside

Moladion’s powerful, winding river...
Aplos River is a broad, slow-moving river originating from somewhere beneath the mountains of Spirane and feeding Iromar’s moors in the south. The northern parts of the river are known for their strong currents, with the water becoming slow moving in the south. The riverbanks vary along its course, ranging from soft hummock grasses to small groups of pine, and sometimes nothing but pebbles and sand. Crossing can be difficult at times, but it can be swam or bridged by fallen trees or boulders alike.

Solara

Traditions ran strong in her blood, despite having spent the last few years apart from her family the teachings of Isola, and subsequently Heyel ran thick in her veins. Though perhaps she was not quite so conceited or self-absorbed as her grandfather, nor was she quite so good natured as her mother, but she walked a fine line between the history of her blood and what the she intended to shape the future into. While the age old feud between angels and demons had seemingly dissipated she still knew the stories, but as most of her blood cared little to continue the grudge. It seemed others were always stirring up trouble, throwing themselves against the strong walls their bloodline had built with their disillusioned attempts to destroy something. They never seemed to understand that their strength lay in the bonds they shared with one another and the alliances that ran as deep as the roots of the mountains itself.

Perhaps this is why she feels so comfortable around Taliesin already, combined with the connection of their souls their blood has run parallel for decades; it is only natural that fate would choose to connect them again after all this time. At his dispute of the likeliness that she will get to taste the flesh of the most recent annoyance to their monarchy she rolls her shoulder in the most canines of shrugs. “Oh well, a girl can always dream,” she said wistfully, “and in those dreams we tracked and… facilitated the end of his misguided plans together.” Perhaps it was a bit morbid to talk of such things with such eagerness, but she knew if anyone would understand it would be him. Soon she would be much disappointed to find that someone had beaten her to the punch, one of Covet’s own blood as it were, but for now she could still wish. None of them lasted long, anyways.

She lowered her head slightly, tucking into the thick fur of her shoulder as the icy gale ruffled the red and golden hair upon her chest. Taliesin seemed far less concerned with the intensifying weather, being born in one of the harshest winter environments had undoubtedly made him more resilient to it. Her life however had started in the badlands and even the years in which she had been absent had been spent in the more arid environment and as such she was less than willing to be caught out in a mid-winter storm. He brushes off her concern for him, seeming almost hurt at the idea that she would try and send him back to the safety of his own home. Confusion clouds her face momentarily as her dark tail whips behind her sturdy form, trying not to take offence at his next statement. Was he implying that she was one of those not strong enough to deal with it?

Mentally she bristles at his thinly veiled offer to escort her home, though he does not wait for her answer and instead brushes past her already heading toward the badlands on the other side of Moladion. Still his last words ring out and where most would have seen it as an insult she can hear the challenge therein and it brings a sly smile to her dark features. In a flash she is beside him, her large paws carrying her quickly over the snowcapped landscape until she falls into step beside his cinnamon hued form. “Anything you can do I can do better,” she teases in a sing-song voice easily forgetting her earlier concern about the storm, instead she picks up her pace slightly so she might pass him should he not do the same. They are two electric forces, born to drive and challenge each other to even greater heights. Secretly she is thrilled that he would choose to come with her, to spend more time with her after all the years they had spent apart. “So tell me, what else have I missed these last years?” she questions, anything to keep him with her and talking,
