"None." - Leader

The Offspring

Diccon (Cicada x Khar'pern)

Rules

• The Vulcan Peak is where homeless mares come to live as a sisterhood. Stallions may not live here except as captives or companions for the Leaders.

• Warriors keep mainly to fighting, Thinkers keep mainly to raiding, and Politicians may do both, neither, or act as diplomats. Members may issue their own battles and raids, but should generally consult the General, Codebreaker or Prime Minister for permission.

• All major decisions are determined by vote, but the Prime Minister maintains order within the Peak and has the final say.

• Elections for leadership positions will be held every TLI summer, provided the qualifying criteria are met.

• You can find detailed information about how the Peak works on the Rules page.

THE GODS CONTEND IN VAIN

EL ARAN
It was a delight to watch the young filly puzzle out El Aran’s words. "Yes," she offered with another smile as the girl arrived at an explanation that made sense to her. The black mare, too, understood the sentiment, even if the terms the filly used were foreign and unusual to her. "Exactly. They are our guides, our protectors." She nodded as the girl bounded away again, back to the other side of the ledge. The seer turned her head to meet Taytim’s eyes as her friend answered her question, and El Aran felt her heart lift. It had taken her so long to come to this mountain, but perhaps that had been a good thing given how recently Taytim had come to these Isles.

Perhaps it had been her destiny all along to take the long road to this peak.

"Taytim. Thank you, again," she said. "I must go see my son— it has been too long, and our parting too bitter to linger here any longer. But I shall return as soon as things in the Desert are mended." She glanced up the mountain slope, searching for signs of the other mares she knew lived here, but it was only the three of them on this side of the Peak. "I’m looking forward to exploring my new home," she said, and smiled shyly at the black chestnut mare.

El Aran turned and made her way down the mountainside with a parting whinny to Taika, and in her heart she wished the girl well in her adventures until she returned and could hear all about them. As she descended, she picked up speed, and as soon as the seer reached level ground she headed for the ocean at a purposeful canter. The sooner she could speak to Orhan and apologize, the sooner she could return home and begin the rest of her life on the Peak.
