Re(1): Listener 4360: What a Turn-up! by IOA

Yes a really nice idea and puzzle. The use of the symmetry aspect speeded up the solve along with the fact that 3,4 and 7 wouldn't appear. One of the clues [17a] was redundant though and could equally well have been replaced by 'number' instead!! The word to be found was the same as that for Piccadilly's last numerical Listener Preamble Only in 2000 L3554. In that puzzle solvers had to decode the leading diagonal A=1, B=2 etc. The grid had 180 degree rotational symmetry and all entries were palindromes that were exactly divisible by the number of digits they contained. Sadly not all entries were distinct which is something I know the setter was trying to achieve. Thanks IOA for a most entertaining and different challenge.
