He finds me at my den, which is perhaps as unusual as anything. I did not expect him to find me so soon and yet, he arrives as spring reaches onward. He is a stranger, essentially, and yet I have given him the benefit of doubt in order to satiate the females that have come smelling of him. Two had come to these borders in search of home; one has given birth, it seems, and the other has fast shown her own ambition within Glorall's ranks. It is for that reason that I have given him permission to move across the borders and yet... I cannot help but feel slightly bothered by his arrival at my den. It is not a usual thing for me to be here and so, it is even more unusual for others to find me here. Still, I do my best to appear amiable for he brings forth a kill. It hangs from his jaws - a spring seal, fat and yet small enough to not cause wastage. I eye it for a moment before he speaks, my eyes shifting to his own in those moments.
He speaks a name that I do not know and so, I merely continue to listen as he moves forth. He is busy, it seems, and I can only imagine why. Children are quite a bother, after all. They require food and company. I am fortunate that my own are either away with their mother or conveniently elsewhere. They have learned to entertain themselves and yet, such an approach is one seldom taken by others. Nonetheless, I relax my posture, speaking to him now as I eye the seal.
I move forward then, my head low as I take the seal pup from him, dragging it towards me as I begin the task of eviscerating it. It is a difficult thing to chew through the thick fat and flesh, attempting to peel it away from bone or pull the connective tissue apart. It takes time and gore begins to pool about it, my muzzle and paws crimson with blood. Perhaps it is an unsightly way to see an alpha for so many seemed preoccupied with their appearance and yet, this is reality. This is what our nature is. I pause from my task, eyeing up at him once more -
