He stays stock still, like a wolf afraid to scare away the deer too early, silent because if he interrupts his mother could very well stop and never tell him. He knows some of the history (how Gwythr posed as Mallos for years, and even had a number of children using Mallos' DNA), but it still surprised and shocked him. His lips tightened with anger. How dare someone (even a God) use his mother so! It was anger at Gwythr, not Mallos. He felt sorry for Mallos, with his multitude of children and no idea who or where they were in the world. It is not as if the father carried the babe, so knew it was theirs, and where it ended up.

It was not as if he suddenly thought he could get revenge on Gwythr. Anyone with control if divinity would be more than a match for Brae, hence the futility. It still angered him. Not that he knew what to say to his mother about the whole ordeal. He was sorry he had not been a choice, a wanted or planned child, but he was not sorry to exist. He was glad his mother had trusted him enough to tell him. "I suppose Mallos does not know either?" It is more a statement than a question, despite its phrasing.

Brae studied his mother, wondering if she was alright, but knew she was an able survivor, who had always dealt with things in her own way. "Thanks for telling me" he manages to get out, unsure of what he is going to do with the given information. Should he talk to Mallos? Would it make a difference? He doubted he would ever see Gwythr. He lets go of the anger he had been feeling, and pushes that which he cannot let go of to the back, suppressing it for now. It was not the time to act rashly.
