LONHRO: the night terror

He remains content to very near sit upon his freshly made kill, sides heaving with the effort of it and yet her guards it jealousy still, like a dragon atop a pile of gold, unwilling to share with his companion now- that cunning, clever little mind barely capable of speech seeming to have managed to use her words against her regardless as those eyes of emerald fixate upon her. Daring her to defy him. He can see her agitation and it pleases him, affirming his mind has surely outdone her today, offering him satisfaction for his actions as some part within him seems to swell with pride. He turns back to his kill now, little teeth parted to begin to tear at the flesh in hunger, managing to rip his own small piece from it though it is not without effort- the kill still large for one so young. Her mention of deer however, sees that handsome black head of darkened beauty lift to fixate upon her now, tilting slightly to the side in curiosity.
“Deer? What is….deer?”
He does not know the word, remains unfamiliar with it, tasting it upon his tongue as if he tastes the flesh itself. He likes new words, enjoys them, takes delight in merely repeating them over and over with satisfaction. It is a mundane task, perhaps, one that would make him appear of simple mind and yet….there is nothing further from the truth- the boy brilliantly clever and sure to be even more so a he grew. Yet childhood is surely for making mistakes, for learning what not to do when one grows older. She moves to stride away and he moves to follow, moving barely three or so strides from his kill before those emerald eyes narrow and he turns, moving back to his rabbit to grasp it in his teeth- determined to carry it along with him and still within his possession, unwilling to leave it unattended lest Singe come to find it. He was curious of this deer, emerald eyes already seeking it as he trailed along behind Kairos.
