The Grotto

Disaster has struck!
Years ago, an earthquake broke open several entrances into a deep, winding series of subterranean systems. It was thought that deep below, underground rivers snaked their way below Moladion. Now, flooding in the Northern reaches of Moladion has proven this theory to be true.

The Grotto is almost entirely submerged. Many of the entrances are completely inaccessible, and those that are only extend a few hundred feet before ending in water. The lower entrances, however, act almost like a giant drain for Moladion. Water pours down into the Grotto's maw as powerful rapids and waterfalls, and large amounts of debris have build up throughout the area. It can be exceptionally dangerous to travel due to the risk of flash-flooding and dams suddenly breaking, but the Grotto does offer the most consistent access across the floodwaters because of those dams.

Note:The Grotto will return to normal once 25 posts have been completed (or at Staff discretion). During this time, new threads will receive a 'Surprise','Disaster', and prizes.

He continues to follow his sibling along, his equally black form trailing into the cave even despite Zagen’s attempt to offer silent encouragement, his long, tall, lanky form ducking lower through the entrance before he stood easily upright once more, ears pricked forward at the sudden sound of Kairos somewhere within. Eyes of vibrant teal move to follow his pale siblings motion as the girl moves to stand across the entrance- though in this moment Ilias still thinks nothing of it. They are his siblings after all, he has never brought harm against them, fed with them, slept beside them, kept up with them with no issue and indeed he holds no issue now- merely finds himself…uncomfortable in the darkness of the den. At least however, it hides the twitch of his eye and perhaps he finds some confidence in this as he shifts upon the earth, pivoting to face Kairos- side pressing comfortingly into Zagen’s now as their sister speaks. She wanted to play in here? He finds himself frowning slightly as he turns to examine the space around them. It was large enough he supposed, though he hardly saw what fun could be had within it.

“Kairos- we can barely see in here, we don’t we play outside? At least move away from the entrance, your blocking all the light. One of us will fall and get hurt.”

He is nothing if not practical. His voice soft, pleasant, kind as always it has been as he looks towards his sibling now, her white pelt the only real thing that could be seen within the darkness, Zagen near invisible, his own mostly black and ashy grey pelt equally obscured as those red rimmed eyes flicker briefly to his brother, assured Zagen would hardly want to play in here either. It was dank, dark, narrow in places and truly he hardly saw the fun in it. Although, really if they wanted to he supposed he could, even for a little bit. Maybe they could play hide and seek in here- at least it would be made all the more challenging in the gloom. Instinct however, continues to claw at his gut, the boy shifting slightly in discomfort all the same as Kairos speaks once more and those glorious teal eyes rest back upon her. She didn’t want to play? A noisy little bird? Confusion touches his youthful, handsome features once more, eyes flicking from one sibling to the other as Kairos begun to slink low and into a stalk that saw Ilias step back further from her.

“I don’t like this game- I don’t want to play it. Zagen make her stop.”

His voice wavers with uncertainty, he is the eldest of them, to be sure, yet Zagen and Kairos had always been closer and as such he appeals towards that bond now, seeing no reason as to why Zagen would not seek to stop their sister from behaving like this- his eye beginning to twitch near uncontrollably now as he steps back again. Yet still Kairos continues to come- heckles brisling along Ilias’ spine now in confusion and fear, his own form increasing in size with such an action- the boy far taller than his siblings and as such he is afforded even greater size now in a manner almost intimidating.

“I SAID STOP!”

He has never shouted before, never raised his voice and yet in that moment in very near blasts throughout the cave as tiny teeth bare suddenly towards his siblings- both of them, in warning. He is a quiet child, a pleasant, gentle boy and yet to believe him entirely weak is a….dangerous mistake to make. He will not simply allow his siblings to…bully him- for even still perhaps he does not fully believe his sister would truly hurt him in such a way as to bring about death and yet perhaps, in this moment, he seeks to call her bluff as it were. His own form lifted, tall, heckles bristled and teeth bared as his voice near roars within the cave. If she cannot be swayed- then perhaps Zagen is intelligent enough to understand that further…..pushing their eldest brother may not be entierly….wise.
