Taika slammed back into the present here and now at the call for a mother. The instinct to help her kind overpowered her tendency to dream and dance in the fairytale. She jumped to her feet in readiness, eyes searching for where the source of the call came from. Ears trained in the direction and she took off to find the trouble. Coming to a halt in front of the young wolf her fur stood on end, the adrenaline coursing through her, fueled by the distress in the girl’s voice. Though there were no obvious dangers in the area, Taika stood protectively beside Widow, looking around for anything she could do.
Seeing nothing in the near vicinity she lowered her hackles and lowered herself to the ground. She made herself small, and looking as harmless as she could for the scared child. Her face was alight with her friendly innocence when she smiled at Widow.
“It’s okay.” Her voice was sweet and soft, hopefully comforting to someone who was lost and scared. A smile came onto her face and she tilted her head at the lost child. “I can help you find your mother. My friends are very good at finding lost things.” The grin turned mischievous, hoping to entice the girl into play to distract her from being lost. “They are usually the ones who take things and make them lost.”
