Aplos Riverside

Moladion’s powerful, winding river...
Aplos River is a broad, slow-moving river originating from somewhere beneath the mountains of Spirane and feeding Iromar’s moors in the south. The northern parts of the river are known for their strong currents, with the water becoming slow moving in the south. The riverbanks vary along its course, ranging from soft hummock grasses to small groups of pine, and sometimes nothing but pebbles and sand. Crossing can be difficult at times, but it can be swam or bridged by fallen trees or boulders alike.

A SLEEPLESS malice as black as the oncoming wall of night
So it ever was. So will it always be. Such is the nature of evil.

She does not leave from his side and this pleases him greatly. He feels a smug satisfaction as she obediently follows his orders and the Shade, his god, purrs within him at the new disciple that he will gain tonight. For once Paravana completes this deed there would be no going back. How would she ever be received in her country home? They would hate her for what she has done even if it is right and just and true. The wolves of this land are infected with crazed desires; they wish to eat their brethren or mooch off of them. While Underidge did not much dabble in the wolves who were cannibals - as disgusting as the idea is to him - he did help cull the weak. There was no need for a wolf who could not manage on their own for all they did was bring a pack down. Steal time and resources for their own needs. Pitiful.

They run headlong across the cold, bitter world, and she does not complain. There is only silence that is broken by the rush of air in their ears and the pants of their breath against the frigid air. Then they are there and he feels the urge arising within him, that need to satisfy the god within him. It will culminate in a feeling of elation and freedom, joyous and resounding, and so he sends her forth to lure out the chosen quarry. His soul would find refuge in the dark shadow of the Shade. It was a necessary happening.

Paravana goes and he waits quietly with keen eyes as she lures him out, her voice so sweet that Underidge almost growls in a possessive nature - that voice is for him alone. No other should hear her speak in such a manner. Yet this is her chance and he cannot interfere so he shoves his irritation down as Rune crawls out from the den with his own growl. He is young and small, although his body is built broader than theirs and Underidge moves closer to Paravana in a distinctly protective manner that is both truth and also fallacy. Lure him in, block off his escape.

Once he is near his acolyte his own ears fall back, as if annoyed at Rune's words, nose twitching at the scent of dried blood on the male. "We are here not for the love of one another but for the love of the darkness beyond. The Shade calls to you. I hope you will receive him well."

That sibilant voice is silenced quickly for the moment the last word trails off his lips he is lunging forward so that he can knock Rune back - with the den at his back and the angle of the attack it will cause the male to trip if Under is lucky. Only then does he snarl, a call for Paravana for he wishes her to make the final kill, and his own teeth flash as he aims for the male's face, uncaring of his own wounds. He will subdue and distract the male, attempting to move to the side of Rune as he does so, in order to make way for Paravana should she decide to come up and clamp beneath the jaws to end the life of Rune.
