Re(1): Saugeye time?

Here's a c n' p email I sent to fishin' friends earlier this week/Wed I think - 'Twas the 1st time on the lake for the "day-bite" since April... I don't bait hooks, but hope this gives you a guide...

I went out at 12:30 Pm & returned home at 3:15 Pm. I landed 6 between 22-25"es
out of near 3 dozen Saugeye. I fished 6' of water in a dredged area between the
North end silt trap & the South end 3' stump flat w/a surface temp of 72
degrees. After enough of a break-line shallow slam-bite of dinks under 20"es, I
went deeper to 5.5' w/my lil' rippers in monkey puke in 6' of water. I used the
same two 'lil rippers this afternoon & the dinks were shallow w/over 20s deeper
off the break @ 2.7 to 3.1 sog depending on the breeze.

I 1st plotted the silt trap for maybe 15 minutes to compare fill-in depth for a
ice-fishing friend...

Later Gators,
Ray
