News 08.08.2021
Change was long overdue in Spirane. Now that I have learned who is still an active presence within the pack, the ranks have been updated. As I once took time away from the pack, so too now shall Kalseru. Know that she is still second in command of the pack, as is reflected in her rank. Once you are familiar with the new ranking system, if you would like to change positions or move up in the ranks you need only ask. Let this be a time of new life in Spirane, and a promise of great things to come!

When the snows fall and the white winds blow, the lone wolf dies, but the pack survives.

When Kiyomi had told him about the incident that had taken place in the earliest days of winter, Sleekwing had near enough been sick to his stomach. How could he have failed so greatly? To allow such a maleficent wolf wander into Spirane and take advantage of the good nature of one of the pack's residents; it made the male furious and yet quietly disappointed in himself. But above all, he had wanted to help his friend in any way he could. This would be Kiyomi's first labor, and birthing was not always a smooth process. Though the warrior knew little of healing or giving birth, he could lend his moral support. But the male was also responsible for looking after Malina, especially since her mate had chosen to leave Moladion for the duration of the time that Sleekwing would be the more prominent figure in his childrens' lives. And so much of his time had been devoted to hunting for his imprint as she grew ever closer to the time of delivery. Still, Sleekwing had also taken prey to Kiyomi as well, though he often simply left it for her when he felt that she would rather be alone. The once vibrant girl now seemed lackadaisical, and he wasn't sure how to save her from herself. This was not an illness he could combat the way she had done for him. He just wanted to help, but he wasn't sure how.

With the arrival of spring he made a point of visiting her den as often as possible, in hopes that he could lend his moral support when the time came for her to brave the unknown trials of labor. And as dawn broke on a new day he grabbed the rabbit he had caught the previous night and began to make his way to her den site. Malina was confident it would still be some weeks before she gave birth, and so he moved away from her den with repressed anticipation. Soon he would be a father once more. Finally he would be given the chance to raise the pups and play with them and teach them life lessons that he'd never had the opportunity to with his elder litter. But for now his concern was reserved for Kiyomi, and in first light of day he loped across the mountainous terrain towards her den.

As he grew ever closer to her mountaintop den site, his nostrils flared and his ears pricked forward attentively. The first thing that alerted him to the changes since he'd last been here was the smell of blood. And then, the scent of his brother, Swallowbane. Sleekwing knew of his littermate's return to the mountain; if Daenerys had not told him herself then his scent along less frequented trails throughout the territory would have been a dead giveaway. It was the castellan's job to protect the pack, and after discovering his failure in regards to the male who had taken Kiyomi's innocence and left her with these pups, he'd been even more vigilant in his rounds of the pack lands. The heather painted male's pace quickened, bringing him to the mouth of Kiyomi's den, where Swallowbane stood with his head lowered, speaking into the den. A muffled chuffing noise expelled from Sleekwing's throat around the rabbit that he carried in his maw, alerting his sibling of his presence. Nodding his head in greeting, he dipped lower and set the meal at the mouth of the den. "Is she ok?" He asked quietly, not wanting to disturb his friend if she was resting. Still, the over powerful scent of blood troubled him, and he decided to find out for himself after whatever acknowledgement Swallowbane offered was given.

Ducking his head, Sleekwing entered the den slowly, unsure what state of mind Kiyomi would be in. The whole ordeal had troubled her greatly, as was to be expected, but the warrior just wasn't sure what he would find upon entering the den. His heart swelled at the site of two pups nestled against her abdomen as Kiyomi slept. She had always been such a caring individual; she had the potential to be a great mother...it was just horrible the way that she had come to be one. So very unfair. Cobalt eyes ringed in lavender swept over the den, noticing the blood on the ground as his gaze narrowed. He was far from an expert in these things, but it seemed like more than what should be normal in a two pup litter. It was not so much that he was worried for her life, but he was still concerned. Moving back to the den's entrance, he looked out at his brother. "There is blood, I think more than normal. Will you make sure she is ok?" Despite the distant relationship between the two brothers, Sleekwing knew that he could count on Swallowbane to do his best now for his friend. After a moment he turned back to the new mother and pressed his nose into her neck gently. "Kiyomi?" He said softly to her. He just wanted to know she was alright.
